hiya, had a look,as i have not got the care component on dla,i am not entitled to the carers allowance,is it worth tyring for care component on dla? i do have speech, but not everyone understands me lol

If you feel you have care needs it may be worth trying for the care component.

It would be a good idea to get advice first from eg the CAB.

How long is your high rate mobility awarded for?

The sciatica and hearing could both give rise to care needs.

You could get someone at the CAB to help a welfare rights person.

    Hiya

I agree with DX2 a welfare benefits adviser will be your best bet - they can guide you through the maze of paperwork.

Other sources of help are the RNID - http://www.rnid.org.uk/howwehelp/

or had you thought about a hearing dog if the issue is doorbells etc details can be found at www.hearingdogs.org.uk.

Ring your local fire station and they will come and do a complete check for you and install new alarms - get the biscuits in because they usually send at least a couple in a fire engine ;)
