FC - sorry to hear what has happened. Had wondered where you had gone to!

How awful for the ex of the dead man, not nice situation at all especially when it's under your nose and you know the man. It's awful how people can turn back to their old ways in times of need - very sad.

I just hope it now means you finally get some peace and quiet and can sleep at night! Are you still looking to move though with baby on the way i.e. garden or something? Have undesirables still been turning up recently or has it all stopped completely?

Benw It must be different forces work differently. I cannot fault the way the police have handled things here. I caught one lad of about ten firing a bb gun at our next door neighbours windows and the police were there within minutes. He got a big telling off from the police and his parents and the gun was confiscated.
Also all the other incidents were dealt with in good time. Not always straight away. They left me to decide how quickly I needed them to respond. and if it was just more of the same I just left a message on the pc's mobile and he would get back to me within a day or two and he dealt with it.

Lancashire police won an award last year for the way they run things.

F-s I hope you and oh are feeling ok. It takes a bit of time to get over a shock like that.

This thread has gone completely off topic, onto lets-bash-the-authorities. No doubt you are all be willing to pay higher council tax in order that your local police are better funded? I am in regular contact with our neighbourhood policing team via the community group I am a member of; as a result I have much more understanding of why it may appear that there is little progress in certain cases. It's virtually impossible for them to keep members of the public fully appraised of progress whilst still maintaining confidentiality. The police very often do not have the support of the community and do not always have the support of local councillors.
