Fishcake, I've no advice I'm afraid but just wanted to offer love and hugs! Don't do anything that might put your safety at risk. I really hope you get a good outcome soon.

Hi fishcake - sorry about your problem, sorry about the loss of your friend also - the only other thing I could think of to do was phone Crimestoppers, sometimes they have ad on TV. Only just found this thread, so coming in a bit late with info.

I'm sorry about your friend fishcake, it is tragic when things like that happen, but people that are addicted to something they just keep going for it regardless of the consequenses. At the very least, at least old scumbag pusher is out of the way, but it's a shame the other guy has lost his life through it.
Take care of yourself and the wee fishfinger. xx0 -

So sorry to hear how bad things have been for you fishcake . I can sympathise.
We were persecuted by local yobs for three years plus. We contacted the police regularly and got incident numbers, we were in contact with the comunity policemen regularly and the policewoman who was working with the council on antisocial behavior. I kept a diary of every incident of banging on windows and doors, egg throwing, climbing in our yard etc. It still took a long time to sort out because the child protection agencies kept sticking their noses in.
Eventually though the police managed to get two families moved out of their homes and one lad who is now an adult (18) is visited by the police every weekend to keep him in check. We have had two years of relative calm now with just a few incidents from some of the younger kids who thought they would copy what they had seen going on. They are not in the same league by any means. Also above lad had one last try in the summer but the police came down on him like a ton of bricks so when I pass him on the steets he walks past with his head down.
If anyone is going through stuff like this keep complaining and keep a record.
That was the most valuable advice we got. I did take a few photos but only of graffitti and the police took a few too even marks on our doors and windows that the kids football had made.0 -
Hi, have been catching up on the latest, nothing to add really except at least now the police will do something. Came to this thread late so can only offer virtual support.Running_Horse wrote: »Another dead victim of liberal do-nothing tolerance.

Its a sad fact of life that generally even when reported, the police do little or nothing about these things. The chances are that although this person was 'dealing' it was on too small a scale and probably just to support his own habit.
My Mum's next door neighbour is/was a heroin addict, people frequently turn up at all hours, stay a minute or two etc. same story as F_R, sometimes there have been windows getting put in in the middle of the night etc. She has reported it to the police and LA ASB unit on many occasions and the attitude is, 'we've got more important things to worry about' - the thing is, they don't care about the little dealers who are also users, they want the ones who import it.
Stopping one dealer just moves the problem to another area.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

How true.
I came home one Friday night, to find my house had been peppered with air rifle pellets - 15 holes in 7 of my windows. I called the police on the local number (there was no-one actually doing the misdeed at the time) to report it, then went to bed (it was 1am after all). We were woken up by the doorbell at 2.30am - police on the doorstep.
The following morning (Saturday) I called the police on 999, as there were three youths in my garden with airguns.
No response.
The following morning (Sunday), I called 999 again, as there was a boy in the garden using his air rifle.
Four hours later (and 28 hours after the first 999 call) a police officer sauntered up the garden path as if next year would do! I asked him what had happened to sending out the armed response unit? No response. I told him I could identify the boy I had seen using his gun in the garden. No response.
We got a visit from the local 'crime prevention officer' who told me that if I had holes in my windows then the locals would see it as fair game :mad::mad::mad:. I said there werent any holes in the windows before they came and attacked it, so what had been their excuse then? I asked him what he was going to do to prevent the locals doing similar again. His response - it isnt my job?? Funny, I thought his title was 'crime prevention officer'. Excuse me for failing to understand!
I told him I could identify the boy. No response.
I wrote to my MP, went to see her and wrote to the chief constable. Finally, about 6 weeks later, the local beat bobby came out to see me. I told him I could identify the boy. He said why had I not said so before :mad::mad: I told him I had and he then took a statement.
About a month after that I was called down to the station to view an identity parade on a computer. Picked the boy out clearly.
Three or four months after that, we went to court; boy (now an adult by this time as he had had a birthday) changed his plea to guilty and got off with 16 hours' community service.
Police said they were pursuing an ASBO against him. The police solicitor took so long to get the matter to court that the incident with a GUN (for goodness' sake - he was shooting a GUN in my garden) had dropped off the radar because it had happened more than 6 months before.
I know all too well what it is like to be scared in my own home - Im scared to stay in; I dont feel safe when my DH is away; I am scared to go out as I dont know what I might find when I get home.
And all this was less than a year after the little toerags destroyed one of my outhouses by setting it on fire! I fully expect to return home one day to find my house burned to the ground.
Unfortunately we are not in a position to move elsewhere or we would have done it by now.
You have my utmost sympathies, Fishcake. I am sorry someone had to die before any action was taken though. It seems the same all over - the police here said they couldnt (translate: wouldnt) do anything as no-one had died or been raped. It's a sad state of affairs when we have to wait for those to happen before anyone will do anything to help.
