Does Baileys really go off?

Comments

  • It's Alcohol, so I can't see how it could go off! But I think if it left unused for several years plus, it starts to separate, and can look disgusting and lumpy.
  • Just opened a bottle marked 2007.
It doesn't taste quite right like a new bottle would but it seems palatable enough.
    The research continues...

Cant answer from actual experience. It never gets chance to sit around long enough in my house to go off. But I am sure if it is stored right it would be fine.

It is heavenly poured over vanilla ice-cream.

I was just about to say I LOVE it poured over Chocolate Icecream... fill a glass with icecream, pour baileys generously over icecream, and eat with a spoon!
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

I made my friend a baileys cake for her birthday 3 weeks ago. I made it using a bottle of baileys that was opened last xmas and left in my kitchen on top of my shelf....we all lived to tell the tale though.

I've never kept it in the fridge

Personal experience for me when I was younger, got a bottle for my 17th birthday, opened it, and stored it on my windowsill.
One day I had a glass and got a mouthful of cheese. Was almost sick and put me off drinking the stuff for years. Only now can I tolerate it, preferably the mimnt flavour. And even then, it has to stay in the fridge and be drunk quite quickly or I can't touch it...yuk.
I'll have some cheese please, bob.
