Does Baileys really go off?

Last year's bottle was opened, saw a little action and then went back into the cupboard for the rest of the year. If it doesn't actually smell rancid would it be OK to drink neat? Or in coffee?
Failing that, would you risk making truffles with it?

It doesn't go off... I had some the other day and noticed afterwards that the bottle was BBE 2007. It tasted fine and I had no side effects
. I think the alcohol and sugar between them keep any bugs at bay.

Should be kept in a fridge like any other cream, once opened.0

Yes it does go off, it has cream in it - if you leave it long enough somewhere warm, it can curdle. That said, if the date is a "Best Before" and not "Use By", by all means give it a try. Often if something is past the BBE, it's a bit funny to have on it's own but in something else (coffee/truffles) it works fine.0

Drink it all, then see how you feel the next day. Then let us know.....0

If it tastes OK, then its fine - I found a half drunk bottle in the cupboard a few days ago, pushed to the back, probably for about 3 years, and it was fine.:xmassign:0

I found one at the back of the cupboard from last year. I think I'll sieve it to check for lumpy bits before I try it :eek:0

I've already tested my leftover Baileys from last year and there was no side effects! It was kept in a dark cupboard and I only discovered it during my pre-christmas cleaning ritual.DMP mutual support number 199Debt free in [strike]2025[/strike] 2018 (hopefully a lot sooner!):j Smokefree since 10pm 2/7/08 :jBaby no.3 due 29/04/20110

Probably be ok in a cool dark place (so a cupboard not near heating or in a shed/garage) would be fine. But the alcohol would kill most bugs** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
