What a load of pony! AOL knew full well the problem started Friday. AOL were even stating on their help page on Saturday and Sunday under "System Status" there there were "No issues at present".
Customer Service used to be 'acceptable' when it was part of Time Warner, now I feel it's near non-existant. No more live support, message boards have been pulled, a 48 hours to reply to emails and every time I've telephoned them they're always "experiencing high volumes of calls" and the wait time is unacceptable.
Even though AOL now seems to be back to normal for me (using a Thomson Speedtouch router), I'm still ditching them. Their customer support and faults downtime (do they have any engineers who work weekends?) is just no good for me.
I wasn't able to get into my work VPN all day Friday, so it was definitely down then.
A guy on my train into London worked for CPW on their Talk Talk broadband network. When they took over AOL, he said there were going to be big problems as CPW don't give a !!!! about customer service. I should've left then I suppose, or even when he bailed out and went to as he called it 'a proper company.'0 -

Hi,I have a speedtouch, It seems ok at present, but must say I have noticed a big change for the worse since take over.Thats what I get for being a loyal customer, and its cheap:::You get what you pay for i suppose. With the take overs the choice is becoming limited.
It ain't that cheap anymore. If you've got O2 enabled in your area, and have an O2 mobile, even a PAYG, you can get 8mb for about £7.50.0
