Have you tried speaking to your landlord? I'm sure most woud be happy to give you a couple of days leeway. How do you pay? If you offer to pay cash in person on Wednesday they might even end up getting the money sooner than if it's by cheque or something. Can you pay anything at all towards this months rent?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

just looking at it at wonga, would never usually recommend them and the things people on here say are true, but if you only need the money till weds (and the landlord wont wait till weds) then £350 at wonga for 4 days is just under £20. If you join up to top cashback, then they'll give you a tenner for getting the loan. so it would cost less than a tenner. just a thought.
  • Obi might be right there, if its the last option. You most likely need to do the payday loan or wonga

You could try Jobcentre plus for a crisis loan (they also do another loan called a budgeting loan or something?). I think if you go to the jobcentre they make crisis loan decisions quickly (if you could wait a long time you wouldn't be in a crisis). Look on their website for more details.

Another alternative would be to see if there is a credit union in your town. They might help you.

Crisis loans are interest free, credit unions are about helping people so either should be a better move than a payday loan company.

Paying his rent late comes before this. If its one payment late by a few days its no problem at all.

setting up an account at these sharks is a bad idea because even if its ok to use it now, it will be used again because it will be too easy and being a student type it will be used and before you know it the op will be in spiralling debt. Payday loan companies should almost certainly never be used unless there really is no other options and the alternative outcome is going to cause serious serious problems.

Once you start using payday companies you are on a very slippery slope.

yes I do agree, landlord if reasonable should be ok with this
  • Please please please speak to your landlord - He might just turn around and say "No probs" If you don't ask you don't get. Good luck wiv it

Wether the landlord agree's with it or not doesn't matter a jot. You'd have to miss your rent payments for 6 months before he could legally boot you out. Explaining to him will obviously help relations but don't be frightened over one late payment as long as your not planning on making it a habbit. Any reasonable landlord should understand with all the bits in the news about student loans being paid late.
  • I dont see why you wont speak to your landlord! They cant throw you out for asking for a few days delay.
Wonga were on the Tonight show sometime in the week - believe me if you wish to pay 2222%APR go ahead but your being ripped off!
If you have access to Ondemand tv check out the Tonight show that was on ITV. You will never touch a Pay day loan or go to Wonga ever after watching this show unless you had absolutly no one else to turn to!
