Stop complaining and move banks.
that was constructive, how about grow up, if you have nothing constructive to add, stay off the thread, gets right on my nerves the amount of times I see pointless, sarcastic posts like that or similar when people are either asking questions or expressing something.0 -

I currently bank with the Halifax and whilst I realise that some don't like the new setup, at least they give you a fiver a month when you're in credit. Granted you have to put in £1000 per month to qualify, but it's heaps better than "most" other banks that have the likes of 0.1% interest.
Also, their customer service is British based which is way better than going through to an Indian call centre (I'm not racist, it's just I can't undestand what they're trying to say half the time.)
Anyway, that's my experience. Oh, I was warned a couple of months before the introduced the new charges. While the interest rates are at their current level, I'll stick with the Halifax. If interest rates and other current bank accounts start to give you a better return, I'll consider moving then (after reading terms & conditions.)0 -

You actually get the fiver even if you're overdrawn for all/some of the month.0 -
To be fair, it gave a clear course of action to take.djpleasure wrote: »that was constructive, how about grow up, if you have nothing constructive to add, stay off the thread, gets right on my nerves the amount of times I see pointless, sarcastic posts like that or similar when people are either asking questions or expressing something.0 -
to be fair its arrogant, pointless, rude, reactions like that do nothing for new members. The thread starter is a new member, the way in which some responses are made makes this site feel rather unfriendly, even hostile at times, there is absolutely no need for it. I had already stated I was going to move banks, so did i need a clear course of direction? NO.0

And joining a forum and having your starting post as a rant in capital letters and bold is going to get a nice comfortable response is it?0 -
I can't understand why people are getting so upset about this. The way forward is to move Banks if you can't avoid the charges. You vote with your feet.
I make the system work for me. I get £15 per month out of Halifax and they don't get any money from me. And the reason is because I don't go overdrawn.
If you have an overdraft then the best option is to move banks. Some may not be able to move banks because they can't get an account elsewhere, and those people have my sympathy.
But for everyone else, either play the system or move.
No point moaning.0
