I think I have been looking for this thread all my married life!!! lol. I def. need to get organised except I spend most of my time writing lists and then not doing anything - I have no excuse the kids are at school, I only work 2 days a week - not sure where the time goes (maybe out with friends having coffee ahem!). After finally stopping laughing after the first few pages am def. going to take a leaf out of Moggins book and get cracking. (honest!)
  • I love a list or more to the point i love to hav a list full of ticked off job. It encourages me and i don't forget to do things accidentally on purpose.

i like the idea of the folder with every thing in all to hand ready for shopping, menu planning birthday/xmas gift lost timetables for Ds1 & 2 and so i don't send them to school on a bakers date as the calender has been lost (Yes i really did send them to school on a bakers day). Might add a bank ing page to so no excuses for not keeping track of bank account.

I'm thinking about getting better organised, so I can't give you any tips yet but I'd be interested in everyone else's! Right now I'm making a daily chores list for me and my partner and writing those down on big cards we can't pretend to lose. I was thinking of buying one of those birthday tracker things which have folders for the cards, but even when they're cheap they're still a lot of money. If anyone has an OS way to do this that doesn't involve actually remembering I'd be grateful!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
I've used a household planner for years - I'm someone who loves lists! I amused DH by buying a small notebook on our honeymoon to plan what I'd need to do when we returned home!! Over the years I've used small and large books as well as a filofax. Thanks for the link to Moggins' thread, Rosie - I remember reading that with interest first time around!

    Xmas Saver!
We have the main calender on the kitchen cupboard where all dates go on, diary upstairs by phone, same downstairs. They're copied from the calender, doesn't take 2 secs.
For me. got one diary that I use for studyings, currently got 2 Open Uni courses running, keeps me upto date.
Another diary for money only - so keep incomings v outgoings.

Then last but least mini filofax which is handbag based. I still pop reminders in my mobile phone, and have spreadsheets etc on computer, but my filofax has my life in it xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I use a slim diary and a notebook with sections (although I used to use an A5 folder with Dividers). I have a TO DO list, a present section which includes a list of birthdays and a list of presents that I have in stock along with where they are, a food section which includes meal plans and store cupboard lists, as well as a contact section which includes telephone numbers/e mail addresses/addresses.

has various sections for a home organizer, I used some of them for ideas which I then printed out to go in my A5 notebook

I find that I don't use as many lists as some people, what ever you do needs to work for you.

I just tend to put everything in the calendar of my mobile 'phone (shopping lists, 'to do's', appts etc) and set alarms/reminders where necessary, I already carry too much stuff around in my bag so this keeps me from adding to it!

I don't have a shopping or to do list or whatever, but I have all my papers organised in an a4 folder and plastic wallets. I may or may not have index tabs and coloured pens too

Totally personalised to me, didn't cost a fortune and I can change it as and when by clipping papers in and out - that also satisfies the utter geek in me who hates scribbles on paper :o:D:p

I printed out a calender - really simple, done in excel - with all the dates I need to know (daughter away, holidays, rough timetables, etc). You could have a loose leaf of paper in a plastic wallet for each month and put the cards needed behind it, or something like that?
