Do they sell Rain X in wilkos??
Yes they do sell in in Wilkos, or something that does the same thing anyway.

I think car bug remover spray would have got the sticker off as well. I've seen its use recommended for getting the glue off after 'debadging' cars.

Dave does RainX make a worthwhile difference to rain on the screen? They do an anti fog one as well don't they?

I've found the anti-fog to be a bit hit or miss. Has worked well on my old car, but not working so good just now on my van. The RainX stops the water from smearing onto the screen, and in that respect does make a bit of a difference. Again, it seems to depend on the car, as my old Pug could basically be driven down the motorway without the wipers on in most rainy conditions. It definitely has an effect, but it's up to the individual if they think it's worth it.

  • By far the best thing to get a sticker off a window is lighter fluid.

You can buy an aerosol of Label Remover spray. I think maplin do it, failing that cpc or RS. It's a dedicated product for removing labels. It smells a bit of oranges. I used it a lot when I worked for a labelling firm. It does the business every time.

You should think yourself lucky it was only a sticker, round here you would have had a big yellow clamp and no cheap after shave or WD40 would have helped get that off !!

I've got a set of very large bolt croppers if you want to borrow them.

I can`t believe so many replies and nobody has the best solution, the best way to remove a sticker is by using a hair dryer on it !
  • rain x makes the water on the screen "bead" like water on oil for e.g so the wipers can carry it off the screen without long lasting smear or leave water marks when dried.

I don't have a hairdrier - you need more hair than I have got for it to be any use.
