Thanks scaredy, sadly we only have one independant in my area and his reputation isnt very high. I actually went to him before vison express and he was 100% certain my eyes were fine when I couldnt read the number plates. Hence the need to go to a chain...It normally works out more expensive to have new lenses put into old frames Pap....but always worth asking.
I thought that Pooky, what a shame. I will ask though because I dont think I will be able to afford new glasses and a test. Where are the lenses and test wouldnt be too bad. I think I payed £190 for my glasses, frames and test 3 years ago. I just cant afford that now
Thanks Sally, I shall ask and see what they say

Pap - Specsavers do a test for £20 (I think) and they have a budget range from £25 including lenses now...I looked at some but as my eyes are really bad I need to have my lenses thinned down to fit most frames to stop them looking like milk bottle ends and they wanted to charge an extra £110 for the lenses.....the thinner lenses came free in the £75 price range frames though....So make sure you look around at everything."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W.
