Seriously, I know it's a mother's duty to fight for her son, but this lad is 20. He is not a boy, he is a man.

It is as plain as the nose on your face that the card has been abused - 22 different card numbers? For the love of god - that is not normal or anticipated use.

Inlaws, ex-fiances. An abuse by an extended family on this scale hasn't been seen since the last episode of The Sopranos was broadcast.

It might be an investigation now, but the company already has all the evidence it needs. It might not be fraud, but it is most certainly mis-use. And it's taking the !!!!.

The lad will be fired, sure as eggs are eggs.

Right for a start the 100 odd pieces of paper have details of 1 transaction one 1 piece of paper,1 whole piece of paper with one or several transactions done at one time, i for one am in the store a few times a week for coal etc, not whole pieces of paper with transactions on then it just states the sale on that day . 2. it is only an investigation not disciplinary. 3. i am not as you say sticking my oar in i am trying to help a 20 year old boy who don't know what the hell is going on lets hope it don't happen to your kids. and yes i have had a few bank cards three have been stolen i have lost a couple and have been issued with new ones when myself and ex split up, also add on to that my sons 4 past cards and my husbands 2 cards you might see the picture, i am not looking at my son through rose tinted specs so please do not insinuate it.!!!!!
    1. 1 transaction per piece of paper is still 100+ over 3 years. Thats a ghell of alot.
    2. An investigation is a disciplinary as he is suspended.
    3. I do have kids and they are half your son's age. A 20 year old doesn't need his hand holding by his mum when he messes up.
    4. Sorry but the specs are rose tinted. The boy has been tearing the !!!! out of the card and has been caught.

    Anyway - c'mon - 100 transactions [ish] with 22 cards.

His family have been taking the pish. The company are 100% correct to investigate and ask him to prove that all the cards belong to people who live at that address. I suspect the manager who let one non-family transaction through didn't expect to lose a year's profits on one staff member's staff discount card.

I have let myself down :(:p
    You are spot on though.

No worries; I am putting a note on my calendar today though. It's a place I never thought I'd be :rotfl:

I'm afraid I'm with the others ~ it's blatant misuse of the card.

If he wanted to help out family members, he should have accepted cash from them and paid for orders with his own cards.

It doesn't look good for him - 100 orders in 4 years is still on average 25 a year, which is one almost every fortnight for 4 years.

Yet another example of the idiom of modern Britain. All rights, no responsibility.

Frankly, if I was the owner of the business I'd take it beyond dismissal and bring in the police.

But there's the rub, isn't it woody.

They aren't victims. Most of the whiny threads on here are created by an over-inflated sense of rights and privilege, with no corresponding sense of responsibility to their employer.

I want. I want. I deserve. I've been treated unfairly. I've been off sick for a year because I'm depressed, but I still deserve holiday pay. I've effectively stolen company property and abused a privilege, but the company are wrong to investigate . blah blah blah.

What was the classic from last week? My husband is can't get back to work from his tea-breaks on time.

!!!!!! . . are people simple? Can't they keep track of simple concepts like time?

I find it all very depressing.

    Yep...that was a classy one.
I sometimes wonder if these people live in the real world.

Unfortunately, it is people like us that get slaughterred for actually saying how it is rather than making things all pink and fluffy :)
