Nads - a good plan but IMHP not enough profit margin to allow for all your costs by the time ebay and Paypal, Royal Mail, importing etc have all had their cut it may be pretty tight. You may not lose money (or you might) but for all the effort, you may not make much either. Don't want to be negative - but that's what it seems like to me.
  • ooh, can i join this please?

we have decided that this year we are going to make a huge committed effort to save for a deposit.

i have 8 weeks left of my maternity leave and my dad gave me £100 for xmas. i'm sure if i put my mind to it i can make agood dent in that £10,000 target.

"it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time. :D

I did go onto the slot machine type thing and didn't know what I was doing and won a couple of £'s there and then won a few £'s on the roulette table......but bingo is a big no,no for me:rolleyes:

  • Hi all,

I think i'd like to join but slightly alter the idea to suit me, more of 'make an EXTRA 10k'. Although since i only have about £100 to my name this precise second it's pretty much the same thing really :rotfl:

Anyway, add me pls <fill in the name of 'official' list-adder-er> :o

    Good Luck Everyone!!
  • What a great thread! I did my own personal £2008 in 2008 challange and made over 3K with cashback, selling books and CDs on amazon, carboots, stoozing, loopholes etc. I really enjoyed the challange but not sure I'm up to this one!! 10K seems a bit high for me as I worked hard for the £2008!

I used to sell a lot on amazon but sales have slumped and I feel that so many people are selling on amazon now that prices have become very low. Funnily enough I got a sale 10mins ago... my first for 3 months. £4 profit.

I've a couple of ideas: writing an ebook. Does anyone have any info on this please? Theres a specialist subject I could write about.

Or how about hiring out my massage bed? I did a massage course years ago and the bed with all the equipment is sitting in the shed. Would be a shame to sell it for £60 -70 when I could hire it out. Do you think this would work? I am a trained reflexologist and massage therapist but couldnt hack going out doing this after a day at work.

    Good luck to all!!

    thanks.
