Can you please add me to this challenge as well.
I'm going to start with decluttering the loft and getting rid of anything that I haven't used in a year and list them on ebay.
Then move onto my wardrobe and get rid of anything that doesn't fit me anymore and again get it onto ebay.
Clear out my makeup drawers and list items that I haven't used (ie....don't like the colours etc) and then list as "tried" any items that have been too harsh for my skin or makeup that I don't like.
Finally, I'll do the same for my hubby's wardrobe and my two teenagers wardrobes that seem to have an endless supply of clothing, shoes and accessories that change constantly.....I'll just start listing them and making some money for my new challenge.
I've also started a large bottle for loose change and put it in the corner of the TV room so that everyone will contribute and again hopefully count towards my £10K goal.....
Good luck everyone....just thought I would jot down a couple of ideasSaved £££'s using coupons/discount codes/cashbacksDone the Edinburgh Moonwalk 2010(yeh !)Signed up to do....Woman's 10K Glasgow runGreat Scottish Run and St Andrew's Hospice 6K run and Midnight walk (13 mile):A:kisses2:0 -
Wow, it has taken me a couple of days to get through this thread! Fantastic sign me up please!
Already spent £8.00 on well over a £500 of Christmas decorations lol! I have my sister tee'd up to sell them on for me so hopefully that'll be £100. I bought 12 of the duvets before Christmas at £2 each, didnt use the code as i didnt want to miss out on them and shifted them for £5 each, but spent that money on the car insurance so wont be counting that.
Everyone is very inspiring! I used to make my own Christmas Cards and do Scrapbooking but since having to kids under 2 i have stopped. Must get it all sorted!
I was also a big ebayer and collected various bits while doing car bootys and bought loads of polly pockets from the 80's for pennies, will get them listed asap.
Heres to a great new year! :beer:0 -

I have listed about 50 items on eBay tonight.
Just a tip for people wanting to sell books/magazines/DVDs on eBay - you have to offer free postage now which means that to cover costs, the starting price needs to be higher. At the moment there is free listing on these catergories under £4.99 so definately worth getting them on now.

Anyone done any mystery shopping recently out of interest?
I do quite a lot of ms, it can be quite lucrative, depending on how much time you have and where you live. There is a huge thread about it on here that is very good.

Tried BingoBritain today, with only 5 other players I still didn't win. Still won one day out of 3 so can't complain.
Must get going on Ebay.....I can't quite convince myself that I can make much money out of it though.....must get motivated. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi every one,
I'm new here and this is my first post ever so I apologise if the formatting is not correct.
This is INSPIRING! I'd like to join in too, this is just the kick up the bum I need to try and get our dismal finances in order.
After reading through most of this thread I have an idea that might well work for me and others. And that's doing something like Avon or Betterware with cheap foods from Approved Foods. My idea was to make up a list (steep learning curve here, I've not done computer artwork like this and tips would be appreciated) with illustrations and drop it into peoples doors complete with an order form fo me to pick up the next day. Then do a quick order to approved foods and I should be able to do it on a weekly basis.
Point I've thought of already - keep it very small to start off with. I thought I'd do local street where my MIL lives then when people talk about it she can say 'oh yes, that's my DIL' and I dodn't come over as a complete fly by night.
BUT, does any one know the legal side of this, does handling pre-packaged foods also need a food hygiene certificate? I know I also need to get sorted tax wise and will go to the appropriate board for help there - we've a complicated situation due to sickness, no work and self employment
And yes ... the cakes are wonderful!0
