item not received = send everything 1st class recorded or special delivery if value of item is over £35

I wouldn't bother - send everything 1st/2nd class (up to £36 in value). If not received then refund buyer and put a claim in with RM. If sending over £35 then use a courier.

Then are numerous problems with RD and why would you want to price yourself out on postage?

Im going to have a crack. I am going to tutor a friends daughter for her Bexley test (£20 per hour once a week and she says she has friends who are also interested) and sell on ebay. Have just listed 2 items and am now gathering other stuff I can find. Have also just discovered magpie music so will be making good use of that too!! I also make silver fingersprint jewellery (and undercut the online sellers) so will also try to do some more of that. An average of £20 odd a day doesnt sound too bad - its keeping it up!!! Good luck everybody :D

the secret to keeping it up, is do the things that interest and you injoy doing, its pointless doing ...lets say..... carboot sales on a regular basis if you dont like getting up early, and you hate hagglers.....

debbie_debt, I have been to car boots where they have had food stall, I know some don't let food sellers in but it might be worth a try if you don't mind car boots.

That's fab everyone, so nice to have some good advice :D

And you're right - this thread isn't really the place but it's definately a good excuse for a thread - I reckon others will be able to start a similar little business to contribute to their totals for this year. I reckon you'll be right about needing food hygiene certs etc for cafes, i'll look into it. But maybe selling at fairs etc might be easier.

    Cheers everyone

Have you thought about sandwich / cake rounds .....? very good earner
