That's right,I will do this buying, selling, overtime (only on a basic wage).

With a little bit of knowledge gained over the last few years, buying at auction, carboot sales, ebay and so on,I believe I can make this target and possibly more.

And before anyone starts saying it.....yes I'm registered as a business, yes I'm paying NI and yes I'm paying tax on it !

    The rules:

    There are none.......!

The amounts I stated are purely a guideline or target, however much you want to make is up to you.If you need any motivation, the one and only bit of advice I will give you is:

get a copy of 'the Secret' by Rhonda Byrne

    read it,watch it,use it.......

  • Just bought some cheap stuff online which I'm hoping to sell on. Invested about £12.50 and hoping to get about £15-£20 profit! It's a start!!
The goods I bought won't come for another couple of weeks, but hopefully by the end of January (if all goes well) I'll have made about £230!!

As I've said in previous posts I've sold my Nintendo Wii which I got around £190 for - I've decided I'm not going to take the initial £100 investment out of my total .

Good luck everyone and a very Merry Christmas to you all! :T
Just updating my sig now

here are some target figures that might be usefull

to reach 10k in 2010 it breaks down to

    you need to get

    £833.33 a month

    or

    £192.30 per week

    or

    £27.40 per day

dont know which is the best one to aim for...:rotfl:

had a great new chunky style diary for 2010 with account pages in the back, so i think good old pen and paper will be great for me....to keep track

You only have to pay tax on goods you have specifically bought to sell for profit.

If you were growing or producing the product yourself, does that still apply?

Confused over bingo britain it says you have to play a cash game the day before to get the free £5 bonus does that mean you need to spend some out of your cash balance everyday or are people getting it anyway by using the bonus balance? As i have no cash balance left only bonus would i still get the free £5 the next day?

Made about £15 so far and the years not started so not too bad. Little dissapointed as some of the things i have bought to sell on have gone a bit pete tong! Not lost any money just things ordered not turning up ect Am i the only one?
  • This may be a bit cheeky, but what exactly is in here? Can someone summarise?

According to The Secret, you just have to think positive and you will get what you want. Basically, you decide what you want and the universe will align things so that you will get it. However, it won't work unless you truly believe it first.

The thing is, if you believe something will happen, and want it bad enough, you will sart to do things towards getting it. In that way, you are helping to make it happen. It's like that old saying, God helps those that help themselves.

So, if you decide you want to turn £100 into £10,000, you will work harder at the car boot sales, ebay etc.

    Good luck.

Not sure about the bingo thing

If the items you've purchased are not here yet,I would not worry about it.Xmas post can be a nightmare, but if you've purchased wisely,it will show a profit whenever you list it.It's great to hear you are showing a profit already, well done.

Do not be frightened by COOLTRICKERCHICK's money breakdown, selling trends 'normally' happens in peaks and troughts,so one week you may make £400.00 profit-the next you may make £40.00.....You only need to find one mega profit item on the year to go way ahead of yourself. It is quite possible to find hidden gems still.

I know for a fact I will find several great items next year....How do I know this ?

Because I tell myself I WILL find these items, and I always do.By being positive you attract better items/sales figures/better prices/more profit.

Think about it,you are selling normal run of the mill items on a carboot sale.Is the seller who is misserable, rude, dirty looking, unhelpful going to do as well as someone who is smiling, polite, looks presentable and helpful ?

I know sometimes this does not matter, because if I see something I want it matters not to me what people (sellers ) are like.BUT in general terms, you will sell better.

It's the same on Ebay, someone who answers questions in a short time span, who describes/photographs items well, who offers items worldwide, has good postage terms, will always do better on the long run, than someone who does not.:T

When selling on a carboot I NEVER EVER display a price on any item. When you've been selling for a while you get a sixth sense of what you can charge people. It also gives people the chance to ask you how much, and straight away you are one step closer to a sale.

One trick I will share with you is:

If you have items you have no idea of their value,a good example is vinyl records, dealers are normally the first to look through them. When you know who the dealers are, just say a very high figure when they come and ask you the price (once they have picked several).9 times out of 10,there are records worth serious money in their selection.Several years ago I did this with a copy of 'Their Satanic majesties Request' by the rolling stones.I found it at a carboot sale and paid 50p for the album. The same day I had maybe 20-30 people asking how much,I just let them place an offer on the table.Needless to say the top offer of £55.00 was rejected and overshadowed by the end price on Ebay....£450.00.

    Try it !

Only just noticed this thread, i'm moving into my first house at the end of January. How does this all work?

Think of a number between £9,999.00 and £10,001

If you seriously want it , then you go out and get it !

To get serious extra money, you have to be willing to work on extra commitments,so whether that is overtime, carboots, auctions, window cleaning, valeting, whatever, you have to do it.

IT WILL NOT MAGICALLY APPEAR IN YOU BANK ACCOUNT

Have a read from the start, and you'll pick up some great ideas. For some people the sacrifice of one year of extra work ethics WILL change their lives. It will get them out of debt,it will be money for a wedding, for a deposit for a house, for University.....there are many reasons. You have to WANT TO DO IT,it's as simple as that !

    Thankyou :j
