Hi cally6008,
http://online.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/gsd?r.s=e&r.l1=1073858790&r.lc=en&r.l3=1073864776&r.l2=1074453334&r.i=1073789588&r.t=RESOURCES
It might be worth looking to see if you are eligible for any grants. Some areas are quite supportive of new business ventures.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
I'm so just sat on my hands brimming over cos I got an idea that might take off (and it might not). Argh, frustration at not having the ££ right now to do it. I know I could set it up for free and use that as a trial but it wouldn't be the same.
Start the business planning process as though you did have the money. Run through the numbers you might need, work out all the potential costs, opportunities, potential pitfalls and market competition. Brain storm it like you are ready to go, put together a business plan (this process should focus your mind, highlight where things may need tweaking and might open up new ideas for being inventive with finance) and before you know it you will have a viable strategic business plan (for you to work from). This can be cut down into a punchy short form plan (omitting mission critical ideas that could be stolen!) ready to walk around business link, banks, potential investors etc. to look for seed capital or business grants that may be available. Meanwhile, keep up with this challenge and every pound you make brings you one step closer to the capital you need to kick of the idea full steam ahead. Hope some of that made sense. Good luck and remember me in your memoirs

Doing some research on Amazon, there are books on there which are huge selling for 1p, so I can't even see how they are doing it with postage rates what they are (unless they do significant bulk and have a one size fits all deal with a courier). All interesting though and I have found some great bargains to buy whilst looking (I know, I am supposed to be selling, but it is an addiction).
Some of us (sadly not me) will have bulk rate accounts/ franking machines with the RM.
It makes sense to get a subscription if you think you will sell more than 35 items a month, but of course it is a gamble.
You can also add products that aren't in the amazon catalogueThis is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. Absolutely amazing advice Eyesparky. In fact i find quite a few of your posts motivational and useful.
Thanks for this (lol even though it was in no way aimed at me, i'm still taking it and using it and learning from it!)£2022 in 2022 - £1042/£2022

If Bingo restarts it intermittently (maybe with an early, up datable post with key info) will the old threads stay accessible, because I have found myself nipping back a few times to check out something?

Hmmm - I'm in a quandry.
Have an old mobile phone to sell. They go on ebay for between £40-£50 but I threw out the box and charger in July when I was going to (but never got round to) sending it to a recycle website. Without the box and charger, its tricky to guess what I might get for it.
One recycle phone co are offering £31 + £3.50 cashback through topcashback.co.uk but I've just read some horror stories about the company.
Do I try ebay at the risk of it selling cheaply, or go with the recycle co with the risk of not being paid at all?[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000 -
I agree, its really hard if one of you is trying desperately to save and the other is spending all that saving. When 'ahem', I start filling my 10k pot, i'm going to keep it a secret, or at least not shout to HO about it...maybe a bit naughty but you gotsa do whats you gotsa do...
Is it bad that i'm thinking of doing this also!my OH just spends spends spends as if money really does grow on trees - his LBM isnt happening and its such a struggle for him to understand that we are trying to cut down on all expenses!
He knows i'm decluttering, as we need to move house sometimes this year... He doesnt know about this thread (oops) but there's a reason for that.. The negativity and shouts of "You'll never achieve that" will be loud and clear - SO i'm just saving myself the aggro for now and going it alone! When I've made a bit of cash then he can find out in a non-chalant sort of way - "What, this paltry amount? Oh it's just a challenge i've set myself this year..."
Evil? maybe... Or perhaps i'm just trying to preserve my sanity!!!£2022 in 2022 - £1042/£2022
