You will need this then :)http://sg.royalmail.com/portal/rm/PriceFinder?catId=23500532&gear=pricingcalc

I'd say as long as it doesn't look like it is going to break open in the post you should be okay- after all clothes don't need bubblewrap protection.
A large letter costs from 47p and a packet costs from £1.08 so you could save yourself a bit.

cool thank you Turkish! Havent done postage research yet so didn't realise that was the price difference! Quite steep isnt it depending on how we choose to package! Thank you also Mambury for your post, I still havent figured out how to quote different people at the same time eek

Right, so my job tomorrow when my son is back in Nursery (they're open tomorrow I checked, so lets hope I can get there!) is take pics and then "package" and weigh as many of his clothes that I'm selling as I can. All ready to list and post for ebay by the evening!

My second job is to organise that PA (Procrastinators anonymous) meeting that a few of you said you wanted to attend! I meant to do it but honestly never got round to it :D

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hi all :D

Spidey - I added you to my circle of friends on dooyoo as I recognised you from this thread (in case you were wondering why some random person added you!). If I recognise anyone else I will add to my circle of friends too (only have Spidey at the mo :rotfl:) Talking of Dooyoo, does anybody feel as if they have loads of ideas about a product, but once writing about it get writers block??? Whats occurring?!?!?!

Am feeling very pleased with myself today because I finally got my butt in gear and signed up to Amazon Marketplace to sell my books - I know it may take longer than eBay and cost more in fees, but I think I have more chance of selling them (eventually!) on there, plus I don't believe you pay fees until you have sold (although that is an assumption and I will now have to go and check )...

I have also invested in a few bargains here and there to sell on - only buying 1-2 of each thing at the mo as am testing the water in Jan to see if anything sells really well and also taking into account bing0s advice re new stuff vs old stuff :D

Hope you are all feeling motivated - for all that need a kick up the bum, consider it kicked :p

Everyone is doing really well, so keep it up :T

Will continue to lurk and be inspired by everyone x

I am very pleased to have you as a friend, you can never have too many :D

I've managed to rate one of your reviews and will do some more soon.

Well done on joining Amazon, I've sold quite a bit on there in the last couple of years.

Just a few tips with packaging items
    • Make sure what you are sending is secure with plenty of tape, jiffy bag or plastic mailing bag-good for everything!
    • envelopes are ok for mags or knitting patterns
    • also keep your washing powder boxes, cereal boxes etc as these are also great for packing - wrap them in brown paper (Wilkinsons 69p)
    • Tissue paper is great from Poundland 20 sheets for £1, sellotape, brown tape and padded envelopes
Buy small quantities until you get into the 'swing' of selling regularly and then shop around for larger quantities - you'll need somewhere to store it!

Good tips! I like the one about the cereal boxes! Got a few which are about to run out and our recycling box is waaaay too full after xmas and having not been emptied due to snow! So just another way to help the planet !! ;) thanks for the tips

BTW dunno if this helps someone but I buy tissue paper from a shop called "The Works" does books, calendars, craft items, and other stuff and I buy a packet of 100 A4 sheets (multicoloured) for 99p. Cheap and cheerful.

I use mailing bags - I buy in bulk so price per average mailing bag is 10 - 15p

I cant sell my own goods on MSE, but obviously by buying in bulk I do have a lot, if you get my drift.

Not sure what the average price is - I will have to do some research to make sure I am getting the best deal !!

Bubblewrap _ I get huge rolls from envelopemaster. This was the cheapest way when I researched about 6 months ago but it might have all changed now !!

    Large Bubbled Bubble Wrap 1500mm wide x 50M in Length = £42.99

    www.envelope-master.co.uk I think.

Appreciate this might be too much for people starting out, but top tip - buy a large roll and cut it down into metre lengths and sell on car boot. Also buy jiffy bags in bulk and do the same. One guy makes a fortune on rolls of tape, and parcel supplies.

I'm near Livingston (kind of). Closer to Glasgow than Edinburgh though.
