Trailers are actually pretty damned expensive to buy, at least if you dont want one thats going to fall to bits as soon as you get it off the sellers drive! Also, my local boot sale charges more than double to get in with a trailer!
Its amazing how much stuff you can actually get into a car when you get the seats down (what type of car do you currently own - I used to be able to pack a phenominal amount of stuff in my old Fiesta)
If you do want to get an estate for the sake of carbooting, might be worth looking for something that benefits from classic insurance (i.e over 25 years old in most cases) - as an example, my Morris Minor Traveller (estate) cost less than £100 a year to insure last time - at the time my Fiesta cost over £800! It also adds a nice focus of attention........
best thing is, no depreciation - you might even be able to make a profit on it!
Molit wrote:just thinking about doing car boot sales with ebay unfriendly stuff, and hit on a minior snag. My car boot is tiny. Now the car is a hatchback, but even so, its not going to fit much in
Toying with the idea of buying a second old vehicle, like an old volvo estate with 6 months tax, rather than have to hire a van each time I want to do a car boot...Sure I cant be the only one in this predicament. Anyone have any ideas?
Trailer would be cheaper.Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -

I am - I did snigger ...
We could stick with having a single buddy, or maybe have a small group on msn ... say me, Mabel, Mambury and Money? Then we could chat to whoever's around. How does that sound - I'd suggest no bigger than four though or it could get as manic as this thread! We could call it MAMM ...0 -
Hello! Please can i be signed up? I've been reading for the last 4/5 days and whilst i'm feeling raring to go and very inspired and motivated, i have no idea where to begin! I don't have a clue where Ebay's concerned, i'm not up for gambling or writing reviews... I don't want to sound negative as i'm feeling pretty excited, i'm just a terrible procrastinator and also quite shy which isn't a very useful combination!
Just wanted to add a huge congratulations to all those who are off the mark - WELL DONE xJust £10,852.28p to go...

Also, you might not guess, but 3M are excellent suppliers for tape etc. They often have incredible sales and are on TCB @ 12%
Thanks for the above info Turkish its very helpful.
This may sounds slightly uneducated of me but please bear with me.. If I sell son's clothes on ebay, Can I get away with just wrapping them in some tissue (as stuff we use for presents etc) and putting in an A4 envelope? Or is it better to put in bubble jiffys? More importantly would it be cheaper?
Only reason I ask is cause you mention above about getting away with Large Letter, I'm still quite a novice with the whole P&P aspect on ebay and other sites and not sure what to specify on auctions as am clueless atm regarding this. I just slap on more or less what I see other people doing and have in the past found that I've always undercharged what i've actually spent!!£2022 in 2022 - £1042/£2022

ta for that Turkish! You mentioned several posts ago about a cheap courier company? I can't find the post now...... Can you post or pm a link??
They are probably not the cheapest though, but I always find them reliable and I get quite confused shopping around.
There is this: http://www.collectplus.co.uk/ but if it could cause all sorts of problems on ebay (you need to send to the right address to have paypal protection).
Also, don't know if this has been metioned in the thread, but you can work for them. When we get stuff from them it's usually a bloke with a car in the evenings. http://www.hdnl.co.uk/Work-For-Us/This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -

I once made ex-hubby chuck out a huge amount of stuff when we were moving house, and donated it to our local Cats Protection - the lady that came to pick it up had a small hatchback and it FILLED the car, I'm amazed she got in the driver's seat :rotfl:0 -

Right. You are hereby dragged kicking and screaming into the Challenge and will not be released until the first minute of 2011. I didn't have a clue what to do either when I first started lurking but the ideas started coming, you'll be surprised ...0 -

check out the RM website.... they have the sizes for all the letters/packets etc. Make sure you weigh everything in its packaging (sometimes adds a bit!) and check it on the RM website. With kids clothes I tend to put them in a plaastic bag/mailing sack of some sort and that seems to be enough.sealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0
