One of the actors appearing in panto in Lowestoft said something very rude about the town on Twitter http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1240223/Panto-actor-caught-criticising-host-town-Twitter.html

Firstly, can I be added to the list please? I'm going to do it.

The first thing i'm going to do is, rather than pay £100 to begin with, i'm going to list the three boxes of stuff I have set aside to put on ebay! Which has beenin the corner of my crowded study for about a year.

I have loads of books (non fiction, recipe books, some psychology) which I thought about listing on amazon or play.com as due to ebay fees I probably wont make a lot, but registered to sell on amazon and play and their fees a lot too. On amazon a lot of books are listed at 1p and play.com charge 50p + 10% and then if you want to withdraw your earnings another 5%. Is there any point listing books?? Where is the best place to do it?

Thanks. Keep up the good work all - everyone seems to be doing so well. :T

I am doing something similar re selling things to raise a stake. As for books, I have been listing mostly on Amazon but their fees are considerable ... you only pay if you sell though and they transfer your money without fee (after 14 days the first time). It really depends on the book whether it is worth listing. I have a couple listed that are around the cheapest on there at £60+ but they may take a while to sell as they are pretty specialist.

Others I refuse to list for pennies or a few pounds as they are far too good and valuable for their knowledge ... can't bring myself to do it for a potential 30 pence or so ... it would be like a sacrilege ;). Still trying to think of other ways of selling them, but if there are any I don't want, that are not worth anything, they are heading off to the charity shops or friends, so that someone else can enjoy them.

  • Well I've finally got round to listing 3 items on ebay...took me blinkin ages too! I'm being a bit daring though as all the other listers have their similar items at £40+ BIN and I've stuck mine on a 99p no reserve 10 day listing in the hope that it'll attract lots of bidders, I'll let you know whether it worked in 9 days 23hours and 30 mins ;)

I've also spent £60 of my £100 start up cash buying some items but don't expect to sell them on for a few months...so I will be playing the waiting game with those.

In the meantime I expect to make back that £60 on ebay, and I'm going to see if I can get my head around the matched betting and also look into advertising from my personal website.

So I'm off the starting blocks in effort, but not cash! :D
