Just to check; do you mean the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?0

Ireland is not part of the UK. How regularly are you planning to visit?Gone ... or have I?0

Northern Ireland should be OK
Southern Ireland is a problem as it is outside the UK and you will have to stop claiming Income Support
Though saying that if its a couple of days at a time whose to know? The World come on.....0 -

For benefit purposes northern Ireland can be a bit funny.
If you claim Income Support in nI then you have to be resident here. I would imagine that is the same for claims in GB. You can just claim again here. It really shouldnt take long for the claim to be up and running.0 -

I wouldnt be staying for longer than 2 weeks as i want to keep within the 26 week limit and also he would be visiting me as well so i think at most it would be maybe 7/8 times a year i go over there:happyhear0

I wouldnt declare you are out of the country unless you have to .
I live in N I ,years ago when I wasnt working I went for an interview in Dublin .
It happened to be my signing on day ,and they stopped my benefits for being out of the country ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
so you would be going to see him 7 or 8 times a year for upto 2 weeks each time and he would be visiting you as well, sounds to me as though you could be classed by many people as living together.
E.g. if you imagine a couple who do live together and he works away 5 days a week(for whatever reason)then they spend only a 100 days a year living together and are treated for all purposes as man and wife, you on the other hand think that living together for 16 weeks plus, which is 112 days plus shouldnt impact your benefits?0
