We all start off by going to my parents bedroom (my brothers and I are all in our 30's!!) to open our stockings.... then we have baked ham, poached eggs (yuck!), toast, mushrooms, tomatoes, yogurt, fruit and champagne. Once brekkie is tidied away we get my oldest brother to play Father Christmas and hand out the presents.

My family is not close at all and this Christmas is the first one my entire family has been together in 15 years so it is really lovely so have this one tradition that we cling to!
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • We have smoked salmon and Scambled eggs, brown toast, Champgane and or Orange Juice.

This year my hubby and I have cut back hugely on our present buying for each other in order to clear our debt. Instead we've decided to have a cosy morning in together before we doing the round of visiting. We won't be having Christmas dinner til about 5pm ( at Mum's :D).

Does anyone have any ideas for a special breakfast? What do you all have?

    Thanks!

We normally have french toast or eggy bread as some people call it. This year we're having eggs benedict obviously with champers.
Croissants are delicious warmed and filled with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or crispy smoked bacon.
Whatever you have, enjoy and Merry Christmas xx

Since i have been living with DH i have made sure a fry up is well under way by the time Dh starts attacking kids toys in order to set them up only for kids to tell him hes doing it all wrong 'and this piece goes here see'.

Xmas dinner is then around 3/4pm depending what time everyone starts complaining of being hungry and wanting more food, by the time its all gone down no one dares ask for tea cos they cant move and its only now the choccie may get opened.

Sainsburys baked goods are great. We will have croissants, pain au chocolate and pain au raisin with fruit and lots of tea, coffee and orange juice. Takes 2 minutes to prepare, is reasonable value and involves very little clearing up. It is always my "posh" breakfast when we have people over.
  • Muffins with smoked salmon and Hollandaise sauce. Used to have a Bucks Fizz as well but now just orange juice
