You are more likely to hit the child as your eyes roam around constantly a) Trying to double check the speed limit as you can't recall a recent sign and b) Looking up at the speed camera height, so you can ram on the brakes to reduce to 30mph just in time even if you may be in a 40mph zone but you're not sure.0

On your first offence you get the choice of £60 and 3 points, or paying about £100 (I think) and doing a speed awareness course for the day with no points addedTurn £100 into £10k challenge - Member #031 - £209.48 / £10,000 - £9,790.52 to go!0

This simply isn't true - as said it depends on the severity of the offence and 40 in a 30 is on the border of too excessive to escape points - it's usually 33-360 -
Speed awareness course option also depends on the traffic area involved, not all are keen and you get nicked with no quarter given.0

New drivers are on a probationary period for 2 years. DVLA will revoke the licence of a new driver who gets 6 or more points on their licence within 2 years following passing their test. you will be a provisional licence holder until you pass another driving test.
Driving 40 in a 30 mile zone warrants 3 points and a fine.
Hope this helps.:o0 -
The form you have recieved is the S172, to name the driver. You must do this within the time limit set out by it, but there is no advantage in doing it early so use the time they give you. Returned this signed and completed by recorded delivery (the failure to do this is penalised by a harsher sentence eg 6 pts).
Then you must wait for your NIP to come through, this will give you your options. This must be served within the correct timescales unless they have a justifiable reason for this not happening. In your case I doubt there is good reason not to. If it seems to take longer than what is permitted get over to pepipoo and advice on how to proceed will be given.0 -
