i have had 2 guys out from DFS and they both say its natural sagging. trading standards told me to write to them and reject the sofas and ask for a refund. DFS said they will not give a refund its natural sagging but they would put more padding into the sofas. i do not feel that they are og good quality and def not worth £2000

No harm in a few hundred quid for their stuff but £2000:eek: spent at Disgusting Furniture Sold, stand your ground and push for a refund you could get good quaility at a decent shop for that price.

thanks for all your support. i will take to trading standards again on wed and see what i can do next.
  • i had the sames problem with a sofa i bought from dfs some years ago. in the end the store manager visited and as 'a gesture of goodwill' and without admitting the original cushions were useless, did replace them with foam. but this has put me off dfs for life. hope you get everything sorted.

Please keep us updated as I'm STILL fighting with them. This is my post in January, on another thread x

" The DFS Versus Customer Battle of the Lumpy Saggy Sofa Hi,

I'm in the same position as you, but further along in the battle.

I've had the chap from DFS out.............watch them! Firstly, he turned up before 08.00, even though I asked them not to come until after 09.00. Then tried to tell me that he'd never seen this problem before :rotfl:. However, he just happened to have some stuffing and a staple machine with him.

When he took the sofa apart I was shocked.....no springs, no foam, simply duvet stuffing inside. He then stuffed some more in and my sofa now looks like it's pretending to be pregnant. My 'year free' comes to an end in a few weeks. I am not going to pay. It feels like sitting on a concrete floor with a thin duvet on the top.

I hope this helps and that you're ready for all of their tricks. My DFS repairman also told me that there are people from other companies that deliberately run down DFS on forums. To be fair to him, he did look sheepish when I roared with laughter at that statement.

By the way, I purchased from the Norwich shop."
  • hi, i got the indepentent report whch states,
    1. embrittlement, cracking and crazing
    2. inadequate inter-webba fitted
    4. use of puffers on the faom causes depression of the cushions
    5. chatter marks, hole in leather, crackling on the surface of the leather
    6. leather handles and base feel like fine sandpaper.

i have asked DFS for all inofrmation they hold on this transaction on their computer. the manager told me that this was not company policy, so i contacted the head office. i should get this information by the end of the week.

independent report also stated that the leather was not suitable for a sunroom. i was advised by salesmen that the suite i selected was suitable for a sunroom.

i bought the furniture from belfast branch of DFS.

will keep you updated, thanks for your support

I bet DFS won't be instructing that "independent" inspector again!
  • trading standards give me the name of the independent inspector.

Ah, so he genuinely is independent? That will explain his findings then!
