    You better watch out,
    You better not cry,
    You better not pout,
    I'm telling you why:

Santa Claus is coming to town!
    He's making a list,
    He's checking it twice,
    He's gonna find out
    who's naughty or nice.

Santa Claus is coming to town! :xmassmile

    Morning :hello:
In my calendar - a Christmas pudding :snow_grin
Haribo, I must have missed something  but good luck today  Oh and my chickens don't fly up into trees but I think it's hilarious that yours do :rotfl:

Mr tru has gone to work on the train. It's costing a fortune, miss tru works at the same place (2 days a week), it's almost £20 a day each. My Christmas money has dwindled a very lot

We've bought a radiator for the kitchen so by tomorrow night it should be warm in here. Haven't bought the pipe yet - it was £20 for 10 metres (course, we need 12 metres but can't get short bits) in B&Q so we're going to try the Plumb Centre tomorrow. When did copper suddenly shoot up in price? We bought some a couple of years ago and it was a lot cheaper.

I'm going to play around with recipes today, not sure what I'll end up with

Off to the hairdressers shortly to get my hair cut - hope she's got her hedge trimmer sharpened!:D then after doing Mums cleaning we are off to visit DS1 and show Mum his flat and let her meet his partner. He only recently told her he was gay but she has been great and even bought a christmas present for DSs partner saying 'I couldn't leave him out'.

My friend Jan came home yesterday from hospital which is great, she's doing so well!:j

Haribo - hope all goes well today x

Redruby - fingers crossed for you today x

HeavenLeigh It's only a lack of money that makes me organised to be honest :D;) I save for Christmas every month and was glad this year as DH lost his job a month ago  The older children would prefer cash instead of presents but I won't let them as they get cash for their birthdays and I like to surprise them at Christmas IYSWIM.

So glad that Logan is making a good recovery :j Shame he's missing out on his play but he'll enjoy the party next week.

N9eav, where are you going? Sounds intriguing!
...Lets hope the caretakers remember to put paper in the 3 rooms it's needed in... Lets hope the cleaner was able to find my bin to empty... Lets hope the copier engineer turns up today...

I agree with Donnygal, but I also think you feel that you are letting the nicer staff & the kids down if you don't manage to do as much as possible! Also, please give the Minder a hug - I bet that facilities manager is of an age that thinks they know best but actually has no life experience ;)

    Morning All :hello:,

MSD - :naughty: I've just spent the last 10 minutes wiping down my screen and keyboard from where I unceremoniously sprayed it with tea from laughing at your OH :rotfl: so glad none of my team are in yet!
    Haribo - good luck today
Tru - thanks for the song! Have the Jackson 5 version of that on a Christmas CD my sister lovingly made for me last year.
Hester - have to agree with donny-gal don't cover up others failings. It's not fair on you; why should you do your job properly for your money, but others do a half-!!!!!d job and still get paid? It's not right.
Bitsy - hope your children are feeling better

Feeling a bit fuzzy headed this morning. Assuming this is because I was fast asleep before half 9 last night and didn't surface until the alarm went off at half 6  Do not know how I am going to cope with going out for my work do tomorrow night - I'm sooooo tired at the moment.

Did the Tesco shop last night and deliberately planned meals where stuff for the freezer wouldn't take up too much space, as the turkey debate still rages in the house of Grinch (as I have come to call my parents place as I'm only being allowed to put up deccies this weekend coming!). Mum can't decide whether to get a massive turkey, or two small ones and freeze them. I'd go with the two small personally as it's better value for money and more room in the oven, but it's Mum's decision and woe betide anyone who has an opinion :rotfl: Next year when we've got a house (and therefore a decent sized kitchen) I'm just going to have everyone to ours!

OS today will include baking some Canadian Cookies (which I believe are similar to the Twinks I've seen on here) because I'm sick of seeing flipping rolled oats in my cupboard every day! Am making a bacon and onion hotpot for tea tonight (again courtesy of someone on this board can't remember who though so thanks :o) which I will serve with peas, sweetcorn and greens. Will make enough for our lunches tomorrow too.

Anyhow, sorry for the mammoth post (I'm feeling much better today hence more chatty), have a lovely day, with lots of hugs to all you lovely people xx

  • Morning everyone.
DS is definately on the mend as he's currently annoying his sister :rotfl:
He's still not eating properly so assume his sore throat is still sore but his eyes look better today. Had pants night with DD instead who decided at 2.30am she wasn't going to go back to sleep.........
anyway watched Kirsties Homemade Christmas again last night and feel all nice and festive and very jealous that I don't have the time or the funds to indulge what would be a very nice way to pass the time for me!!!
Not much planned today other than the usual tidying, cleaning etc. Might look for some festive baking receipes, sadly I don't like mince pies so no point having a stab at those.

Diva - :rotfl: @ the sunglasses. I nice suprise for you I bet ;)

N9eav - where are you going and can I come and carry your suitcase?!

Stefejb - congrats on the new arrival to your family. I know someone else who named their daughter Talullah although not too sure about Pixie ;)

Hester - who'se job is it to kick some 4rse? I mean the copier company is no one on the phone screaming blue murder and threatening to withdraw payment for a non existent service?

Heavenleigh - glad your DS slept well. Mine missed the animal farm trip on Monday due to being ill which is such a shame. Hopefully your's will be well enough for the party next week xx

Haribo - good luck for today xxx

Right it's after nine and I am not dressed :o Easing myself into the day as mindee is being taken to school by her dad this morning.
Have a good day OS or not. It's lovely and sunny here - I love winter days like this :D

    Morning all!

Haribo - thinking of you, hope all goes well xx

Redruby - fingers crossed for some good news early today!

N9eav - loving the return of the weather report, even if it isn't for England!

Diva - what a picture you've conjured up, lol!

Hester - hope that someone there gets a grip soon, before they drive you insane!

Bright and clear here today, chilly but not too cold - good news as still no heating! Amazingly the kids seem to be okay and haven't died yet - amazing what a portable rad can do lol! Actually they're quite lucky to still be living, ds only hoovered the sitting room instead of all downstairs, despite it needing doing and it being his job, dd1 didn't do the pots at all, dd2 and dd3 made cakes and couldn't wash up as dd1 hadn't done the dinner pots - yeah! They will all be busy tonight with those jobs plus extras!

Despite their lack of ability to do their jobs, they have all asked me to do stuff for them - ds wants me to find something for his dad for Christmas (actually he's the only one who seems concerned about this right now, girls will panic on Saturday morning when they get in the car no doubt!), dd1 wants shoe liners and tights for mufti tomorrow, as well as a pile of stuff washed (ha, she can do that tonight!), dd2 wants me to find a pressie for her friend's bday tomorrow, and pay for it no doubt, and dd3 needs something but I can't remember what!

Anyway, I shall go and do my jobs, and prob pop into Morrisons, #4 meal deal in there today, details were on food grabbit board yesterday. OS stuff has already involved hoovering as it was too bad to leave - pencil sharpenings had been spilled in the hall! I am trying to leave the pots, but unless I avoid the kitchen all day that will be impossible, as I can't do anything in there at the moment as everywhere is covered with STUFF! Need to get in as pizza tonight, and taking one over to a friend for after the cinema - very money saving, but mainly cos hm pizza is so much better than takeaway!

Lunches: marmite sarnies, dd3's cake with very blue icing and lots of sprinkles, apple, raisins

Dinner: hm pizza and potato salad dressed with lemon and coriander (dd2 doesn't do mayo or "slimy" dressings!)

Right, think I've finished moaning now! Going to browse the grabbit board, so I don't miss a bargain whilst I'm in town!

    Morning all,

Wasn't going to post today as I've got nothing exciting to report OS wise. Made a loaf of bread this morning and did the basics. It was too hot to go anywhere and DGS & I spent a large portion of the day in the pool.

Their was an accident just past our place late this arv around 5.30pm. We were still in the pool. :D The shopkeeper ran up the bum of the car in front of her. Have no idea how she managed to do it. There's lucky to be 2 cars at a time driving. SHe wasn't hurt badly, bit of whip lash I think but the rescue helicopter came, ambulance & police. DGS was in heaven. Pool time was abandoned. :D

We've been having our tea out the back verandah this past week. The mozzies have been good so we've been able to do it. Otherwise we are the meal. :D

Ruby Hope you hear today then.
    Haribo Good luck for today.
    TiredMum <hugs>
Bitsy Tha'ts good news that DS is on the mend.

Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
