We need to get the resellers out of the search. Just doing a CD search for 99% discount and still get 4,000+ results. The reason, I realise is because there are used copies listed "from" £0.09 or similar. The search should be based on the price from Amazon themselves.
No. We need to make it optional. Or leave out used items from search results, leaving in new items from Amazon sellers as well as Amazon themselves.

Many Amazon sellers offer new items at lower prices than Amazon, and it would be a shame to miss them. Most Amazon sellers are obliged by Amazon to charge postage, usually at a fixed rate, but, even with postage, they are often still cheaper.
  • Hi guys.

Has anybody ever used this tool to buy a piece of jewellery?
I'm looking to spend about 1k on a ring for the OH this xmas, and some of the discounts seem unbelievable!
One ring is shown at £899 from £4.5k! Now I know that it is standard practice to show things at a higher "original" price to make you think its a bigger discount, but even if its just a £1k saving, this is still pretty good, right?

The majority of the rings seem to be sold by a 3rd part seller, "Diamond Manufacturers" which seem to have good reviews. I take it by using a 3rd party seller I'm still covered by the 14 day cooling off period in which I can send it back if I'm unhappy?

Can anyone get the Xbox 360 catagory to work? I've tried discounts amounts from 1-99 and none work. I get "Your search did not match any products" every time. Any ideas? Or are none of the Xbox games reduced?! :D
  • I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU MSE! If I hadn't read the article about Amazon I wouldn't have discovered I already had a membership to their "Prime" (which appears to be a "free p&p next day delivery club"). I'd missed seeing the annual subscription on the bank statements because 2 years ago I didn't check things so closely, last year it looked like one of my husband's book purchases - for which he got an ear bending :o - no wonder he looked so aggrieved! I'd had no idea I'd had this for 2 years - pretty sure I didn't deliberately request it. I've already got last year's £49 (June 2010 payment) back, and currently awaiting response to request for previous year's £47.97 too. So that's an extra potential £96.97 MSE has saved me!!

The exception hinted at is Maximiles (formerly called iPoints). 1 point per £1 spent. Since 3000 points only gets you a £10 voucher (MutualPoints gets £20 for 3000 points), that is not a lot, 3.3 pence roughly, or 3.3%.

Spend £1000 on a TV and get £33 back, approx.
Errr...something seems to be wrong with your maths.

You said 1 point per £. So a £1000 TV gets you 1000 points. If 3000 points get you a £10 voucher, 1000 points get you £3.33, not £33. That's 0.33%, not 3.3%, and very definitely not worth bothering with.

Or am I misunderstanding something? (I've no idea what Multipoints is about, maybe it's something to do with that).

Me too. I was trying to compare with deals on other sites to see if I could get them cheaper but got nowhere. :(

Blimey, still not working after 9 months?! I gave up to be honest. Guess the 360 category just doesn't work.

Doh! I didn't notice that. I figured it was an active tool so assumed your post was recent otherwise it would have been fixed. Shame.
