A christingle is an orange (representing the world) with a red ribbon (blood of Christ) round it, a candle (Jesus the light of the world) in the top and 4 cotail sticks with fruit (the 4 seasons) sticking out. The Childrens' Society help to organise Christingle services to get funds. We have our service at 4pm Christmas Eve. The children each have a christingle, stand around the edge of the church (inside!), the candes are lit and they sing 'Away in a Manger'. Cue lots of tears.
I am taking Samuel this year.0 -
The quilled snowflakes are lovely. I would be delighted to receive one and would definitely hang it on my tree.0

We used to make Christingles when I was in guides, they never explained what it represented though!
Anyway I'm off to bed now, night all xUnless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
