    Hiya all,
Having just moved and unpacked a bit I came across some unused deal vouchers which are now well out of date. Has anyone successfully managed to get these turned back into points from TESCO?
    Many thanks!

We sent some out of date ones back last year with a covering letter, and also some Blackpool Pleasure Beach deals tokens that had run out. We wanted to try to swop them for the MFI deal (which has now ended). They all arrived in the post, duly swopped!! It was a really nice surprise (and we ended up with a free £4k kitchen!!)

    Worth a try!!

When you say deal vouchers do you mean the ones with the barcode that you can use on the internet to get deals with, or deals you have already got and not used?

I have some of the deal bar code vouchers that I know I wont use before the date runs out would they extend these for me? or cancel them and issue some more or put the points back on?

I don't understand why you'd have to post them unless they were the old ones without bar code if so that might be why they did it. They might not if they are the new bar code ones do you think or has anyone done it with them?
    Thanx

  • Hi,
As a relative newcomer to this (although an avid reader now of this thread), I'm wondering what your views are on a bit of a conundrum I have.

We plan to take a family holiday to Oz next summer and would like to finance some / most / all of it through clever points collection. Unsure of whether to collect CC points which can then be converted to Deals (if that's even the correct lingo!), paying for a holiday with Virgin for example, or to cash CC vouchers in for Airmiles and collect that way. Does anyone have any experience of this, or any ideas?

Thanks very much, would really appreciate guidance.:o
  • Have all the points been reset now as it is voucher time?
On my clubcard page I now have 222 points which 'will appear in my February statement'
but I had 40,000 in there a week ago from the talc thing.
I'm sure it is OK but I'm a bit worried after that bloke got all his cards and points taken back last week. (Metro, Feb 8th)

They've been reset - got my vouchers yesterday in the post and now my balance in showing as 2000 odd.

How much talc did you have to buy to get 40,000 points - I'm impressed!!

  • Thanks Nikki - I am relieved! Spent £600 on talc - about 800 bottles I think. A mate took most of them off me for a few quid expecting to make a good few quid on them but the market is flooded with second-hand Johnsons talc for some reason...
His spare room smells nice though...
I should be getting £1600 in deals - if they arrive...

You load money onto it via a direct debit or at the customer service desk and then use it to pay for your goods in tesco (it's not accepted anywhere else).

You get double the normal points, so it doesn't double any special offer points or extra points coupons. Effectively 2 points per £1 spent. Hope that helps !

I went into my Tescos on sunday and asked about the Clubcard plus card and the gentleman on the till said it was the Tescos credit card that gives you double points and he'd never heard of the the Clubcard plus card. Is this a new thing?, why hadnt he heard of it?

    Thanks
Capital one was £1000.00 now £0.00:j
    Barclaycard was £250.00 now £190. 00
Asda credit card was £500.00 now £0.00:j

I guess it's just local staff knowledge. I phoned up this evening and an application pack is on it's way. To shamelessly copy from the main site :- the official number is 08457 104 010 but you should be able to get through via freephone 0800 406050 too.

It's scary to think that because of the guy on the tills misinformation that you could have applied for a credit card which

    1) doesn't give you double points
    2) completely bypassed the clubcard plus DEBIT card which does

Tesco have such a huge range of financial products now, I don't think those on the till can possibly hope to know about all of them. I'd like to think customer service have a better idea, though they seem to regularly forget about the double the difference policy ;)
