I have morethan 25,000 nectar points but ain't got a clue what to do with them. I use my Tesco Clubcard points for hotel stays but the nectar points offer very poor savings in comparison. Any advice on what to do with these? I have looked on the website and nothing there takes my fancy. It's just a shame that Tesco don't convert them! Their savings for attractions are another great thing.

I would agree that Nectar points are generally less rewarding than Tesco's clubcard. After several years of shopping weekly at Sainsbury I have around 50,000 points. I have just converted 10,000 points into £100 of Adams vouchers which seemed the best deal for me. The vouchers are valid for one year and have a voucher number but not my name printed which means presumably that I could give (or sell) them for a third party to use. It does say that this is forbidden on the back of the vouher though. Don't know if this is commonplace on EBay for example.

Note that there is 50% added value for Adams w/b 19th August so will probably convert a few more points then if it turns out to be as good as it sounds.

Spent only a few months actively trying to maximise Tesco clubcard points through online shopping (rubbish experience, Sainsbury far far better), took out two insurance policies (cheapest deals anyway), get clubcard points for electricity and gas supplied by Powergen, and bought a kitchen from MFI. Result was that I now have £400 lifestyle vouchers to spend in MFI.

Would definitely stick to Tesco if only they could match Sainsbury for online shopping service and overall customer service. As it is I decide week on week whether to endure a Tesco shopping experience on the basis of the points on offer. Loyal customer I am not!

I'd gladly swap all my nectar points for a fraction of the value in tesco points but I am certain the tesco ones are non-transferable. My only use for the tesco ones are hotel/attractions....when are nectar gonna get competitive?
  • I lost my Nectar card and requested a replacement online, it was replaced FOC within a couple of days with several bonus coupons, ie triple points for 4 BP fill ups, 2000 extra points for Ebookers (need to book over telephone), 150 additional points for Sainsburys.

May ask to replace my husband's in a few weeks time too !!

You don't need to lose a card to get a replacement, just ask for an additional card for an additional collector, whose to know that the additional collector is you plus it gives a few more nectar numbers for signing up to the thompson and ebookers mailing lists for additional points.

The only ones I know of in the area are on Bath Road (BS30 area) and High Street in Winterbourne.
