I have also noticed that Sainsburys have changed their Nectar rate for petrol at some time in the past from 2 per £ to 1 per litre. I guess if they had left it the same, their rate for petrol would have been double BP's rate at current prices.
theyd changed the points for every pound spent on petrol last year or year beforeNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
this is a total swindle because there are only a few businesses from the whole directory which have the nectar logo. So unless you search the whole darn thing and find one or two useful don't bother thinking you can earn loads of points. I was looking on internet as I don't have a paper directory for thompson and it is time consuming to say least Are there only 20 listings with the nectar logo in whole country?
http://www.thomsonlocal.com/search:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.0 -
Plus they're mostly 0845 numbers, when you consider 50 nectar points are only worth 27p. Is it really worth it?
If you register your nectar card with Thomson Local you'll get 100, if you’re not already aware that is. The number to call is 0800 005 1109.
There are other ways of earning point too. You’ll be amazed how many people don’t use or forget to use their nectar card so try keeping an eye out for receipts that people might accidentally drop, take ‘em to customer service and get the points that they could’ve had. Do bear in mind though only receipts that say you could have earned x amounts of points will be accepted.

Answer a few questions about you and your car for your chance to win 250,000 Nectar points in our monthly prize draw.
On your online shopping. But do bear in mind that you could probably earn more through the likes of Quidco etc.

Hi,
Please, make sure that when you hand over your nectar card at Sainsbury's or BP, or other shops, that when they give you back your card, it is yours.
I have lost my card this way, along with 18,500 points:mad:
They switched my card and gave me a blank one from the packs they have in the store - how stupid of Nectar to produce the proper cards for their packs, why not paper ones like Tesco do.
They then went to Argos a few days later and redeemed my points, approx value of £92
I noticed after checking my account online, and then after discussing it with the helpline, and them telling me my card wasn't registered, then noticed my account number was different to the one in my hand, plus the card didn't have my name on.
If i didn't check my account online, I'd have never noticed the points had gone, and would still be adding to my original cards balance, till the paper statement comes, every 3 months.
And, as I didn't report my card as stolen, Nectar say they can't redeem my points
But as my card was switched, I didn't know it was stolen, I didn't expect to have to examine my cards when I get it back from the cashier, how stupid I am!
So, please, inspect your cards, Im going to put a mark on mine to make it more obvious if it happens again.0 -

Thanks for going to the trouble of warning about this. Will certainly keep a look out next time I use the Nectar card.0 -

Thats a good bit of info, this happened to me too! I now only use keyfobs for all points (Clubcard, Nectar, Staples etc.) and swip it myself through the machine. I never give over a card anymore!0
