Today i received a letter from Debenhams to say they are no longer taking part in the nectar scheme,,but they have sent some vouchers to spend in store (if you spend over 25.00 quid that is)..I was most dissapointed about them dropping the nectar scheme as i get lots of points and i like to redeem them at debenhams...anyone know why they have ended this scheme???

I received this letter today along with the 2 vouchers, wasn't really that interested but when looking more closely saw a mis-print. One voucher states £5 off your next purchase when you spend £25 or more at Debenhams. Equivalent to 1000 Nectar points. BUT the second voucher is for £10 off blah blah blah (exactly same details as above but with 2000 Nectar points) so again off £25 spend. When turning the voucher over in the terms and conditions it states £10 off when spending £50 not the £25 on the front of the voucher. Does anyone know would they have to honour the misprint as would be worth going in that case.

Don't know if I misunderstood your post hollydays as seems like you're having a go at me (apologies if not) but to re-iterate it states in large print on the front of the voucher £10 off when you spend £25 or more and it is only in small print on the back that it states £10 off when spending £50 or more (as a note to the cashier not the customer).

I get Nectar points when I shop at Sainsburys. Can I spend them there. How is this done? Will they automatically send me vouchers when I get to a certain amount, like Tesco do? There is no explanation anywhere on the Sainsburys or Nectar site!!!

    Hi itsj2!

The vouchers at Sainsbury's no longer exists. All you need to do is to hand over your nectar card and tell the cashier that you want to pay with your nectar points, he/she will deduct the points to the nearest £2.50 so usually you end paying something but less than £2.50.

Thanks Becky2. Can you tell me what a point is worth please. Is there a minimum number you have to collect before you can use them.

itsj2, 500 points is equal to £2.50, so the minimum points you must have to redeem is 500.

  • Has anybody heard any rumours about Sainsbury's and Nectar ?

Only asking as my wife overheard an assistant in Sainsbury's commenting they wouldn't be in Nectar any longer.... any JS employees out there able to confirm one way or the other ?
