Jessops do do a "jessops only" option of the silver body with a USM version of the kit lens and a carry bag - problem is that you cant get them to price match as only they sell it but may be worth considering if you intend to get and use the kit lens

I see the 350 has been out for some time now. Has anyone heard whether an updated version is in the pipeline? I would hate to buy one and then find out that its just been replaced. Thanks
  • not seen anything new out from Canon in the same kind of range.

I've seen the Nikon D200 at around the £5 - 600 mark recently (body only), which seems a decent price for such a quality camera :)

dSLRs have a much longer lifecycle than compacts thankfully. I havent heard anything of it being replaced yet but have heard people who tend to be very much in the know about these things start mumbling that there may be a replacement before very long. Probably best to check on a photography dedicated forum.

If you want some unbiased advice, co to https://www.dcmag.co.uk They have user reviews.
Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with the Canon 350

    Well, I did it.

Got the 350D from jessops who price matched Dixons at 485. Was really pleased to see that there appears to be an offer on the front of the box for a free memory card! I read about people on here who have received it, so hopefully mine will arrive in due course. In the meantime I purchased a 1 gig sandisk ultra III on ebay for 40 quid.

Thanks to all for there suggestions. I'm delighted with the Camera.
