Thanks for your views. The price of memory cards has come down so much recently that it is not quite such an issue as it once was. 7dayshop have 1GB CF cards for £22!!!0

But with DSLRs you want to make sure you use high speed memory cards (which can cost a bit more), as the images that you take will be fairly large and they need to be transferred fast enough on the card so you don't have a delay in between shots."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
I agree with previous post, I use SanDisk Extreme III CF card. If you use slower version you would not use the camera's potential. Well, maybe Ultra II would be enough, but the price difference is not so great.0

I also went for the Extreme III cards for my 350D - according to some sites I read the difference between III and II for the 350D was minimal but given it was only something like £2 more expensive for the III on a 1 GB card I didnt think it was worth skimping on.All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

pin wrote:BTW there is a good offer on the Pentax *IST DL2 at present. Camera and lens for £350 at Jessops (and some extra % off if you go through quidco, etc).
I looked at Pentax when researching to buy my camera and thought they were great (however did end up choosing the Nikon).
FYI Sony have taken over Pentax.
Also one thing to consider is memory cards. I had a point and shoot camera before I bought my SLR, so had loads of spare SD cards and that was one of the deciding factors to by the Nikon. Canon SLRs normally use CF cards.
No!!
Sony has bought Konica Minolta's intellectual copyrights not Pentax's!
Pentax is allied with Samsung!0 -
Doh!!You are quite correct in that.CAT-THE-FIFTH wrote:No!!
