water bill

what happened was all the bills for any house we lived at were paid out of the joint account. I informed the Elec & Gas (but forgot the water) when I left 5 years ago. So my name was still on the bill & he didn't bother to tell them & just left my name on it. However, he kept up the payments from the joint account (don't ask the joint account is another story full of minefields) until Dec 07.
Anyway, it's all sorted for me now as UU agree that it was not my bill & have showed the debt as satified under my name.Wins 2009 : Rimmel sexy curves mascara, Lipcote gift set. McVities Cuddly Penguin:rotfl:0 -
Are you sure the debt is reported as a late mortgage payment? It is more likely that the apartment turned the debt to a collection agency who reported the item as defaulted debt.
Often landlords don't have forwarding addresses or just send any damage notices to the apartment address, anticipating that the former tenant arranged for mail to be forwarded. You may not have received the notice or maybe the landlord didn't bother to send it. You might have a legal dispute to the debt, depending on the landlord/tenant laws in your state.0 -
