Whats wrong with my house? Desperate to Sell

We had our 3 bed house on the market 2 years ago ,for nearly a year without an offer. Everybody who came to see it said lovely, but not for me!!!
I guessed alot of them actually couldn't afford it and the EA just sends them around anyway!!
Also we had alot of viewers who could afford £50k more and so they went on viewing others.
We had alot of fairly strong colours at the time, like blues and pinks and terracottas. Some people just cannot see past colour.I know it is silly!!!
We then took the house off the market and decluttered everywhere, putting kids toys and cupboards in the loft to make rooms more spacious and neutralised alot of the wall colours.
We then went back on the market and at the same time saw a house we loved.
We had about 10 viewings the first week and alot of them said the same not for me.Again we found out that some couldn't really afford it and some could afford more and wanted 3 big bedrooms and our 3rd one is only a box room.
Then it all went quiet and we had no viewings for about 3 months, all this time the house we wanted was still on the market and the Ea's just told me that this year is a bad year it seems for selling it is quiet everywhere, don't know how true that is.
All of a sudden one couple came to view it and loved it!!!
It just seemed it was the right person at the right time.My agent told me that someone somewhere will want your house.
The house we wanted was still available so we were all happy and it is going through now.
Hope this helps and hope you get the right person through your door.0 -
Could be bedroom colours(pink and purple), also wooden toilet seat is a bit "faux Victorian".0

Is that a Saniflo loo in the bathroom? If it is - or if people think it might be - that could be somewhat of a disadvantage.Trying to keep it simple...0

Have you tried reducing the price....silly I know0

It looks to me as though you have outgrown the house upstairs and therefore if I was looking round I would think it was too small.
Downstairs is nice but I would change tap and knobs in kitchen, because it looks a bit tired. Bathroom again looks a bit old but overall a very nice house.
Who are your market? knowing that might help you decide what to do, (quick revamp, lower price etc)0 -
Why has this thread been opened again? Before todays postings, the last one were June - the house might be gone by now!! Does someone know something I don't??0

It should have sold during the summer. If it hasn't and the active sales season is coming to an end, consider more aggressive advertising in local papers and on the Net. The last houses we have bought have been all first seen and liked on the Internet.0

I think there is one simple problem - the asking price is too high! Reduce to a level so that it does sell !0
