  • I sent them a request for a refund which they would have received last Friday (special delivery) not heard anything yet! Not sure if that is a good thing or not?

  • I got caught back in November and bought 2 sets for £80 cash, husband was convinced it was a bargain, i thought it was a scam.

Did some research when we got home and relised it was a rip off. Anyway, sent off a very stern letter, receipt and the cards. Got a full refund (cheque) after about 3-4 weeks, took their time!!

Looked on ebay and you can buy the same cards for pennies if you really wanted to, or contact paintballing centre direct. Much better deal!

Good luck, hope you get your money back!

Update is we received a cheque which we put in the bank last weekend. So all seems well but you are right these tickets are a rip off better to deal direct. Thanks for everyones input. My sons birthday has now passed and we are a little put off organising a paintball party. Maybe next year I guess we will give him some money as a consolation.

Paintballing is a great day out that they will genuinely really enjoy, it can be an expensive day out as they make their money selling you paint balls. This is why they offer cheap deals to get you there or pay commission to the types of company you bought through or give them the cheap deal for free which they then sell on and keep the amount you paid them.

As you have discovered you can often get a much better deal by simply ringing the organiser direct.

Do not let it put you off a paint balling day as they are such a laugh and your son and his friends will talk about it for years. Just bear in mind they are likely to spend between £50 and £100 each all in for the whole day

Yesterday in Leicester Square me and 4 friends bought the special V.I.P tickets. He gave us 5 booklets for the price of 1 so we all thought it was a good deal, however when we got home and looked on the internet our doubts really started. Have we been scammed? How do we get our money back?

If it's the same tickets as I got there is a money back promise. Send receipt and tickets to address given. I sent special delivery (around £5) but got a cheque through quickly so was relieved.

    All the best.

  • Looks like a lot more people have been caught out by this scam than I thought!

I went paintballing a few months ago with MOP after a friend of mine was pressured into buying some of their rip off tickets. We worked out that it would cost us around £11.50 each which gave us entry, equipment and 100 paintballs each (after a bit of research it seems other paintball providers offer cheaper and better package deals).

We didn't bother asking for a refund as we thought "paintball is paintball" and went one weekend. How wrong we were...

I won't rant too much about the nightmare but I have nothing positive to say about the day: rude staff, old & dirty equipment, empty and unsafe game scenarios to say the least...

If these guys ever approach you, give them a wide berth. If you want to play paintball, play with a trusted provider and do your research. MOP are just middlemen, they don't own or operate any of the 150 paintball centres they promote and as a result they have no control over them.
  • ministry of paintball is not a scam. it works just like a travel agent. it links many paintball companies into one, so you can have a hassle free easy day out of paintball. it may work out to not be dirt cheap but it promotes the sport and its not expensive. it sends thousands of people per week to paintball sites all over the world that would otherwise find it hard to attract business and promote itself. i have worked there before for a few months and have bumped into people that bought tickets off me in the street and theyve thanked me for the fun day out they had. its not a scam, its just a really good sales and marketing concept. the sites loved us and gave us free days out for promoting them. besides, its the uk, how many businesses say theyre doing 70% or 80% off every day. sports direct is constantly having a closing down sale. its all about marketing. if theres money to be made somewhere, a company pops up. and to the people that dont use their tickets, ur the one that bought them, so stop being lazy and get out there. all people do in england is complain!
