Websaver 5 is not available with Energy Smart, whilst Online Saver is, makes no sense to me whatsoever. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Couldnt agree more after all a happy customer who feels fairly treated is loyal customer. His Heart Proved He Was A RedSuarez, SuarezWe Bought The Lad From AmsterdamWe Know He's Not a Chelsea Fan.Fernando Torres = El Judas0 -
Please don't make out British Gas is the only company in the world to do this. You sign up what you sign up for, if you don't like the terms then don't sign up for it! Of course though, you wouldn't because a) this is British Gas and b) it slightly hampers your serial switching which costs other customers money.1carminestocky wrote: »What a great bit of business by BG - keep bringing out new versions of its Websaver tariff at embarrassingly regular intervals (err, why not just REDUCE the prices on the existing Websaver??) - then charge their loyal punters to move from one of its older versions to this super new version. I sign up for a mobile phone tariff that says this is your tariff and to move from this tariff will cost you £xx.00 before this date. This is no different! I realise companies cut prices and generally offer better propositions to attract NEW customers! It's called business. I'm still getting what I signed up for, nothing is being unfairly imposed on me!
Customers are asking for a loyalty scheme and these customers are being listened to, watch this space!0 -
Just tried to apply for WS5 on the BG site but a box came up warning me that I`m on WS3 and a £30 fee will be imposed for switching.
Yet the T&C for WS3 clearly state changing BEFORE 1st Dec 2009 will incur a charge and I assumed I would be OK now.0 -

I was also on the WS3 and got the box when using their site to change to WS5. I called up and the BG bloke moved me over the phone. His system also prompted him his end with the £30 penalty so he said he would flag it with them. He re-credited my account with £30 to cover the cancellation fee.0 -

Makes you laugh don't it. On Click 6 and added energy smart the other week. Am thinking sod them. Change to websaver 5 and go back to fixed DD. After all got the free energy monitor out of them. Just worked it changing over will save me £100 a year...hmmm what to do...now changed over......0 -
ive just swapped from websaver 4 to websaver 5 and it didnt mention nothing about penalty charge for leaving early.
and im on economy 7 meter, but they add the 2 together so it becomes the standard tariff as i dont use the stoarge heaters as im not in all day long so dont benefit from them.
hopefully it works ok. i also pay by on a card at a paypoint cause they only wanted to take a 34 dd a month, and i knew i would use around 60-80 a month.Live each day as if its your last0 -
Yeah, they probably fixed the bug now for WS3 users and also broken it for WS4, as you should have legitimately been charged for moving from websaver 4
The best way to check for sure is to enter a meter reading to generate a new bill, any cancellation charges will be itemised on there. 0 -

I phoned in the end and got switched over to WS5.
I also gave them my meter readings which generated a bill showing what I owed up to now, and also a £30 credit, which I assume will be deducted from my next bill.
Why it didn`t deduct the £30 off this bill may be something to do with the glitch and pop-up box.0 -
www.which.co.uk now has the websaver 5 tariffs. For electricity I am on Click 6 at the moment using 4581kW a year. The Which site states that if I swap over my bills will increase while the British Gas site say my bills will come down. Have to say I believe Which, as in the past when I have checked their figures they have been spot on.0
