Virus help urgent & what anti virus?

Im far from an expert, but feeling a bit more reassured now, what with everyones advice i appreciate so much. I just did the 'quick scan' option in Malwarebytes and it came back clean so I think im just going to keep an eye on things and if it all goes pearshaped again, just get it wiped rather than spending days agonizing over it lol. computers are totally alien when you arent too sure what you are doing.I manage to maintain things as a basic user should i guess, but when somethng bad happens, i run screaming lol. thanks everyone, reallly helpful, and i think in future, i shall keep this avg 9 as it seems good to me (i knnow everyones opinion differs here) but not had a single prob in 4 yrs (til the boyfriend lol) but then start doing online scans as well, probably alternate doing malwarebytes/housecall just for security. many thanks everyone who has helped me out here xx
