Kerio Firewall - thought it was free??

Hi,

I have recently added Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall to my PC and I had an e-mail saying I was 7 days in and have 21 days left of an "evaluation period".

I thought it was free or am I mistaken?

many thanks

There are two versions of Kerio, one's free and one you pay for.

I'm using the free version, but initially I was introduced to Kerio by having the full version for a trial period, and the option to purchase it or use the free version when trail expired.

If I remember rightly, the differences between them are listed on their website.

Have a look 3/4 down the page here Kerio it gives you a comparison table below this text:

    Comparison table

Most products you test function for a month and then they stop. But not the Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall. After 30 days, it shuts down selected features, but will continue to run in 'free' mode". The following table compares differences between Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall running in a free mode vs. a full (paid) mode. Here is the breakdown. It's worth to pay just $19.95 for the difference!

    Hope this helps.

It starts as the paid version and turns into the free version at the end of the trial if I remember correctly.

Yeah, you have 30 days, then after those 30 days, it just disables paid-for functionality. Basically a popup blocker and a few other things. The firewall itself will still work fine.
