Except if you're Japanese, those gals can get away with anything0

I think its a beutiful dress.
I...at my grand old age...will be sorting through all my stored clothes to see if I can stand to part with an alarming number of transparant clothes....I know I'll never wear them again, but they were good times, and they hold memories. I'm slightly worried if I slim into them I just might be tempted.....and thats not going to be good!

I've got two items which I just can't bring myself to get rid of. I'll never ever get into them again (and look at them now and wonder how I ever did! Was 19 at the time though)
Every now and then, when I see them at the bottom of the drawer, they bring back so many memories of really good moments and make me smile.0 -
That's the trouble with getting older. You start to judge clothes not just on looks but on things like whether they'll make you cold or stop you breathing. :rolleyes:0

You're only 35 though carol, that's hardly elderly. Besides, there's many a good tune played on an old fiddle."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0 -
Very true but you probably wouldn't bother taking the fiddle out of its case to try and play it if the case was dirty, scuffed and the handle was falling off0

The compliments are coming thick and fast this afternoon!
I was a bit p!ssed off this year when I applied for my B&Q Diamond Card.
'Here y'are dear,' said the lady on the desk.
'Don't you want any proof of age or anything?' I asked.
She looked at me.
'Nah....':rotfl:0 -

They are and all.
Do I come across as "only" 35? Sadly, me and 35 are no longer on first name terms... I've moved on...
I wonder how we assess others' ages on here? I'm sure we subconsciously picture people at certain ages, for no particular reason. I remember being shocked when mr b put a photo up, cos he looked so young..and had hair, unexpectedly.0 -
Life gets more complicated
I drive a 51 no name car as driving something newer or with a badge might suggest I am low class enough to choose a car based on what those who see me in it might think...
...but now it looks like I will have to ask the Mrs to go out to work even though she couldn't possibly earn enough to cover the nursery fees as otherwise if I mention she is an SAHM people might think I think I am showing off!DD5 wrote:I came across a poster on here sl agging me off on another website forum saying that I was bragging about my wife being a SAHM because it was a 'status symbol'I think....0
