  • Instant coffee in general is the work of the Devil. I'm willing to accept that it's a hot beverage but actual coffee it is not. Ground coffee is one of the last things I'm willing to give up at home despite being on JSA. I've gone down from three mugs a day to only one but oh Lord, it's that good I'm willing to make sacrifices elsewhere to afford it.

I've splashed out, just booked a taxi for tomorrow ... AND ... didn't even ask how much it'd be!

I think I've used about 12 in my entire life, under extreme duress... but I accidentally booked a stupidly early train to London in the morning and trying to find a bus to get to the station was proving a challenge, so I thought "!!!! it, you're worth it ... taxi!"

But the thing is, that £10 exists because at some other point, I skimped on something, so I have £10 now to just throw around with wild abandon!

I drink supermarket own brand granules, usually 90p/100g.

I had a friend who would ridicule me about my instant coffee, he'd swear by his posh coffee. Then he lost his job and eventually we had a chat about how good granules were and he gave them a try - and was surprised and now doesn't buy proper coffee.

When I go to my parents' they always have Nescafe, I use it but can't really tell the difference between that and my usual Tesco Rich Roast granules.
  • Sink back in what I hope will be the luxurious upholstery and make the most of it. Any way, it sounds like it's necessity so it will be money well-spent in the long-term.

Welcome to the Big Smoke tomorrow PN!

They are probably the same granules. The Nescafe Espresso I use is probably the same granules wizzed into powder.

I'm meeting people ... going to the place where I'm moving to, staying overnight, then returning to finish packing.

I'll PM you more as that seems a bit short/rude of me.
