Afternoon Everyone
Right. I have been reading a post on a company called Financial Plus (Financial Plus Page 1) in the Pure Money, Loans section of the forum. It wouldnt let me copy and paste the link
I have received a letter saying I can get a loan off them upto £1500.00. According to the above post people claim them to be loan sharks and take money out of your account without permission. Their website seems professional enough and they have A Consumer Credit License. (Financial Plus Ltd hold a Consumer Credit License, our registration number is: 622232) - Am I being stupid to think that even though they have a license they can still be scammers? They have asked for £15.00 fee upfront but I will get that back if the loan goes through.
I'm concerned about the above post yet the letters, calls and website seem to professional. Has anyone actually ever got a loan from these people?
Thanks
LJ

Sorry it's a scam, all of the scammers have credit licenses which make it even more easy to fall for it. Steer well clear.0

My son got a load with this company and missed one payment due to not having monies in his account, not wanting to be late with a payment he asked if he gave me the £25 could I pay them with my card, I did this and to my horror the following week they took 2 £100 payments out of my account, I rang my bank and they pulled the money back and told me to ring company and tell them I didnt not aurthorize these payments I have no account with them and do not take monies from my account again, the following morning they again took 2 x £100 payments out of my account, my bank (Barclays telling me because my son gave them my 16 didget they can use it to take money from my bank for up to 31 days even if I cancel my card and Barclays have to honor the payment even if I do not have funds, the only way to try and get my money back is to put in a disputed transaction claim even though I have never spoke to this company before they took my money, when my son gave details of my card he told them it was his mothers and they did not even ask for me to confirm was Ok, my son is not even in arrears !!!!!!!!!!!! and speaking to them is a waste of time just keep saying we will wait and hear from your bank I will update you if I get my money back but am not holding my breath !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Whilst your here can you explain how 4 unauthorised payments could be taken from somebodies account at your company and tell us what you are doing to stop this happening in the future. What compensation you will be providing?
Or do you beleive it to be a false allogation and this never happens within your company?0 -

Don't forget silence tells us just as much as you coming clean.0 -

If you have an interest in a company and wish to post about them, you have to declare it to the Abuse team and get their permission to post.
Your account will get deleted again if you don't request permission first.0 -

The whole point of a consumer forum, so I thought, is for consumers to share their issues, get suggestions for resolutions and generally improve the level of service offered by companies like ourselves.
Why is it OK for someone to come on a forum and slag off Financial Plus, call us scam artists etc etc etc but when I, as a manager of that company, go on the forum and offer myself as a point of contact to help find a resolution or offer an explanation, I'm deleted without warning and accused of "advertising".
Surely companies are allowed a right of response?
I could do what a lot of other less subtle and responsible companies would do, that is, pretend I'm a consumer and try to fool others by posting glowing reviews about how wonderful a company we are.
Michael1983l, do you have a loan account with Financial Plus and are disputing payments being debited from your account? I would like to give you my email address on here but I suspect that may be a reason why my account was deleted. If you wish, send me a PM and I will be happy to look into the details of your account.
No Scott I am asking you direct questions based on another persons account of your company. You do not have to specifically answer about an individual case just answer if what I have asked has happend in general and generally what are you doing to prevent it happening to other consumers.0 -
ScottAnderson wrote: »Michael, as part of the terms and conditions of a Financial Plus loan, a customer agrees to make their contractual payments by Direct Debit. This is done for two reasons:-
1) it is minimum fuss for the consumer.
2) it avoids any manual intervention regarding the repayment of their loans.
We do not lend to anyone who does not have a bank account with Direct Debit functionality. If our customers honour their side of the agreement i.e. to repay the loan by Direct Debit , then there is never the need for us to contact them again once the loan has been paid out.
Unfortunately, not all of our customers do honour their side of the agreement and cancel their Direct Debit in an attempt to avoid making the repayments. Sad but true. It is at this point when we will make every effort to contact our customers to arrange for repayment.
The reason for my response on this forum was to offer myself as a point of contact for consumers who feel they have been unfairly treated. I will not discuss cases on here but if, after thorough investigation, it proves that customers have been treated unfairly, I will ensure that both appropriate steps are taken to compensate the customer and preventative measures are put in place to stop a re-occurence.
You did not directly answer my question, so I will ask it in a little bit more plain English.
Has your company taken out payments off card details given to you over the phone by customers to make an authorised payment and then at a later date taken out a payment that the client did not agree to?
Judging by your current evasion of the meaty questions I am begining to assume that your company can be treated with the same contempt as all the other sub prime leeches that prey on the desperate and extort them.0 -
Michael the leeches are those who take money they cant repay with the intent of committing fraud0

Your a bit wide of the mark here, I have always paid my debts and if I don't make a payment its because I cannot make a payment. I have been stuck in a rut before where I thought the only option to get food on the table was to take out a further loan, I did this knowing in the back of my head that I couldn't really afford more outgoings but did it because I didn't seem to have any other way of getting food on the table at the time.
These leeches that I am talking about evaluate your outgoings and know full well at the start of the agreement that the customer is going to struggle to make the payments, either now or at some point in the future. They also know that desperate people will do desperate things, so off the back of that I can safely say that these leeches are exactly that.
You yourself have obviously never been in a position of hardship and lucky for you, but not every person in debt is trying to get out of their agreements.0
