Why would anyone put anything on on hold because of a forthcoming general election?

I can only imagine it will be business as usual when the conservatives get in power.... they can't do much more than Labour are currently doing....

What are you trying to tell me morph3us ? That I can dodge bullets?

We're not doing anything differently to what we normally do but we wouldn't even consider buying a property (if we were going to buy one) until after the election.

I think if Labour get in again we will seriously consider emigrating. I can't stand the thought of another 4 years of these corrupt self-serving lying scumbags. Anything is better than them.

It is the convenient excuse that 99% of people need to put a task off
Truth is it will be much the same the other side of the election for a long while whoever is in charge, but people need an excuse, why??
Early days yet but come the new year when the talk of the election ups a gear then they will dig their heels in even deeper.
Face it a change of party/ leader will not drag us out of the !!!!!! we are in, some think it will be cured overnight:confused: It won't.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Im getting married in May so we are saving anyway for the wedding and house deposit. We are in no rush to buy a house.

What a great time to be a saver. Helping to bail out those that didn't care how much debt they ran up

I'm not sure what you mean by that i'm sorry :o
  • Yes. Along with a lot of people in my age/wage group (early-mid twenties with good income).

Getting married in April, but have no plans beyond that (eg house purchase, children). Seriously considering emigrating for a year or two, along with most of our friends. Waiting for everything to pan out and become sensible and somewhat predictable again before making any big life and financial commitments.

I have just been reading one of the other threads and got the impression that people are putting a hold on things whilst waiting for the General Election. Is that true or have I misread things?

No just for Christmas! / Winter

We are sitting tight but as you may know our work situation is not great. We are living for the moment and have no plans for holidays, cars etc. Is everyone else in the same boat?

No, Wait for the new year, goodness knows we all need a break but don't wait for the election, just don't get caught up in that trap - live your life, whoever wins the election won't make any difference to our lives:rolleyes:
