Has the card been activated in the UK?
  • Yes the card has been activated already

If the card has been activated, then channel 5 should work OK, that is assuming the signal is strong enough to receive it.

( I presume from your user ID that you are in Spain? )

Can you get fiver and Five USA?

Oh and which BBC1 is showing at 101? and which ITV is showing at 103?
  • Hi Inactive, Thanks for your quick reply, Yes I am in Spain (shh dont tell anyone!)
We can still get fiver, Five USA, BBC1 EAST, and ITV ANGLIA
Channel 5 is there during the day, breaking up occasionally but seems to go off around 6ish. I agree with you it does look as though the signal is a bit iffy but we never had a problem with the old card

    1. Yours is definitely a signal issue; nothing to do with the card, and everything to do with the earth's rotation. There are several versions of 'FIVE' available. If you pull the card out, do you lose the service? If so, here is how to receive the 'free to air' version from Astra 2D, which may be better for your location.
    2. Press 'Services' on your remote.
    3. Press '4'.
    4. Press '4' again.
    5. Using the buttons on your remote enter the frequency as 10773.
    6. Use the arrow down button to highlight 'polarisation'.
    7. Use the left or right arrow to 'H'.
    8. Move down and use the left or right arrow to change 'symbol rate' to '22.0'.
    9. Move down and use left or right arrow to change 'FEC' to '5/6'.
    10. Move down to 'Find Channels' and press 'select' on your remote.
    11. Using the arrow buttons highlight 'FIVE', press the yellow button on your remote to save it, then press 'select' again on your remote.
    12. To watch FIVE press 'Services' and button 7.
There are sharks on Ebay charging £2 a throw for this information!

    Spot on Will.

    ;)
  • I was reading on another forum that Astra points to the UK primarily and getting a signal elsewhere is considered a bonus.
  • Many thanks for that Will, Have followed the instructions to the letter and have also been able to tune in BBC2, 3, 4 CBEEBIES and CBBC !!!!! All of which we have never had before. I will check again at 6pm when 5 usually goes off and I will keep you posted

I am now a bit puzzled! You say that you can view the above channels as 'other' channels, but not via your electronic programme guide. This should not be the case, as the frequencies are identical; on the other hand the frequency I gave for 'FIVE' is perhaps not the same as channel 105.

What make and model of digibox have you got? Additionally, what software is installed? Press 'services', 4, 5 and read the EPG software version at the bottom.
