Private parking ticket - Morrisons

Hi all,

I need some adivce please.

I've read a few post and the related article about private parking fines and they all say to not pay it. But i wondered what to do if I did go over the 2 hour limit in morrisons carpark by 1 hour. As I was having lunch with a friend and our small babies in the MORRISONS cafe then we went food shopping in the store. Does that excuse the fact I overstayed the 2 hour limit? I'm tempted to write to them but should I just ignore. Can they really take me to court as they have said they have photographic proof of my entering and leaving the carpark. Or is this BS to get me to pay up????

I have until Tue to pay the reduced rate of £40 so advice needed A-SAP pls.

The company in question is called 'parking eye'.

Thanks

Just ignore, you haven't done anything wrong and it's not a fine. If you have read other threads on here you should have realized that by now. They will not take you to court. Your case is no different to anyone else's on here.

No reason to pay it at all.

    Just ignore.

  • What they have are pics of the car and its number plate, they don't know the driver though. As any made up contract would be with the driver and the registered keeper is not necessarily the driver, then they can't insist the RK pays can they?
    As everyone says Ignore.
Our local morrisons have just started apnr cameras, can't say I blamr them as its in the town centre and parking is abused. However they are trying to penalise customers as well which is plum out of order. They could do themselves a lot of good PR wise by refunding good customers but they won't so its a major raspberry to them.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Thanks for your replies I will ignore it in that case.

BTW Trisontana thanks for the advice u were a little rude though i briefly read other posts, but didnt see any about over staying in carparks and being the driver and keeper so I thought i'd ask. Afterall there's no harm in asking is there?

There is also no harm in using the search function, which would have saved you having to post at all.;)

I am sorry if I was a little abrupt, but you did say that you had read other threads on here and I was baffled why you thought that your case was any different to anyone else's . So sorry again!

It would be wise to keep hold of your morrisons receipts in the unlikely event they make an example of you. Continue to ignore, but those receipts will give you greater confidence to do so.
  • I cannot see how Morrisons can make an example of you. The charge is unenforceable end of.
Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!
