    - put up Christmas tree
    - hoovered up a million bits of fake tree and tinsel
    - printed out Mums online boarding pass
    - wrapped another 9 presents and out them under the tree :D
    - done the ironing

    sunnyzo
    - hope you feel better and heating fixed soon BBBRRRR

I am a bit late to the mother debate - god I wish I had read the end of the other thread on Saturday night !!!!

Toots - argh I SOOOOOOOOOO sympathise with you with your Mum. Thanks everyone here who also wished me a nice weekend with my Mum, it was very sweet of everyone but sadly like Toots, at best we will still be on speaking terms when she leaves .... she has now been here since Thursday lunchtime and I AM GOING MAD

She is rude and insensitive (will tell me I have put on weight, ask me why dont I go and put some makeup on, ask me what happened to my hair (if I have had it cut), etc etc.
She b*tches about all our family members (except my brother who is gods gift)
She passes judgement on everyone - "they put their TV in the wrong place in their living room", " they let their garden go to ruin", "they do far too much for those grandchildren".
She cant talk about anyone without their being a bit of scandals " I saw so-and-so last week, of course you know that her husband left her/husband went bankrupt/daughter ran away/son stole the car/wedding was cancelled/husband had an affair" bla bla bla.
She has no sense of humour whatsoever.
She wil ask to go shopping somehere and then has a face like fizz he whole way round and complains about it being busy/cold/hot/quiet.
She never ever says thankyou for the meals I feed her when she is here.

She had a huff in the middle of DD1's birthday party yesterday. !!!!!! ??? There were 12 5 year olds here and the 69 year old is the one having a strop.

She totally favours DD1 and is not very nice to DS. He still wears a pullup to bed and she goes on and on and on about how its not right and I should take him to the doctor, and even when I saud, repeatedly " I am not stressing about it, I have been there before and it makes my life a misery", she still goes on and on and on.
She constantly gives him a look of "what is wrong with that child" and talks all over him.

She was here for 4 nights and read the children stories at bedtime ONCE. She sees them twice a year as she lives so far away. She constantly complains that we never send her any photos but then she spends no time with them when she sees them.

I know I should be grateful I have a Mum etc etc but she is jst such hard work, it is totally exhuasting, I hate the whole situation. Everyone else (my Dad, my brother and husband) all just agree with everything she ever says, whereas I constantly think, actually you really shouldnt get away with saying this carp all the time , and I rise to it and bite back. So we fall out and agrue a lot. But even if I say look we argue too much, she will say "no we dont":mad::mad: It is just so tiring constantly trying to say the right thing, make the right noises and not get myself into a corner that I cant get out of (she has tripped me up loads when I lose focus and say something then the next few days later she will catch me contradicting myself and say "ah but last Saturday in the afternoon when we were in the kitchen and you were making that cup fo tea, you said xxxxx"

If you all remember she didnt want me and the kids to stay an extra week in the summer as we made the house too dusty :confused:

She does my head in so much, I wish it could be different.

Triker - cat licking pish off a thistle :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:sums up the pursed lips look perfectly

Sorry for the massive whinge and I shold be in bed anyways

    Morning All

Well the Beavers' party went well - 100 Beavers playing musical chairs:eek: - I was there from 1 until 5 then dropped DS off at home, ironed DD's uniform as DH said he was going to do some ironing while he was home alone and he hadn't:mad:, got DD in her uniform and down the church for 5.30, got back home at 8.15, got DD in bed and went to bed myself!

Tonight is the Christmas fair and DD is singing twice and DS once. That's straight from school until 5, then we go out to Beavers at 5.30 so I'll get home around 7 and probably collapse.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

    Jue

PS Did I mention I'm in this week!
