  • Hello lovelies

Diva - hugs to you, can't be easy for you, but have a great birthday when it comes, you'll have loads of b'day cake from us all here
LL - hope you get the bestest news shortly, hugs my love
    Rose - hope you ok
Hellsbells - hope earache eases, horrible pain it is

We have been for the scan, ONLY ONE BABY!!!! Thank the lord! She's 11 weeks 5 days; don't know why she's soooooo big. You only get one picture, but I wanted one so for a fiver she said she would do 4 or 5; guess what only got 3! Next scan booked for the 4th Feb and she wants to know the sex! Her ex boyfriend still hasn't told his Dad, his sister has told DD2 he hasn't even though he'd told DD2 that he had! He wouldn't come to the scan today, so she said it's his loss, being very strong I think. Does anyone have any handy hints for stretch marks? Haven't got any myself but she is getting them on her tummy and bo£bs, told you she was big, so have any of you tried creams etc and which were good? Many thanks in anticipation

Flying eerrrrr, did two wm loads before work, one dried in td the other left in td until after work, s/s'd kitchen and made our bed

Sorry so many of you are having a dreadful day

Diva - hugs sweetie and so sorry you feel sad. I hope the happy memories lessen the pain a little. Can I ask what happened to your nephew?

Hex - hugs for you and your DH and of course your boys who have lost their Grandad

PenPen - sorry to hear about your hens

Hellsbells - hugs for you today, the pain does ease over time sweetie, it is always there just not as sharp

LL thinking of you sweetie and keeping eveything crossed

Carlsberg - glad it's a single bundle in there. Oils are supposed to be good - maybe rosehip but probably even olive oil would help

I need to get a move on with the flying so going to start with washing up and then on with my list.

carlsberggal - yay, just one baby! I have heard bio oil is good (I had a girl in my youth group who had previously self harmed a lot and it helped get rid of the scars), but check it's safe for pregnancy...I bet greenbee will have a natural and cheaper alternative!

Not sure about cheaper, but bio oil does have some nasties in it (one of my friends recommended it for scars, but I read the ingredients and put it back!). Apparently teenagers are more prone to them (all that smooth skin... wrinkles have their advantages, clearly!). Exercise (keeping the muscles toned) and weight management are important in minimising them, but once you've got them you've got them - although you can remove the marks from the top layer of skin, the stretch marks are deep, not superficial. Apparently drinking plenty of water is advised too. Lots of people reckon vit E oil is a miracle cure, but anything that moisturises and keeps the skin supple will at least make her feel better.

Yoga and swimming are good exercise during pregnancy (some of you may remember that I went to a yoga for pregancy class with one of my friends last year when mine was cancelled... and very entertaining it was too!). Massage & reflexology are good for relaxation, and aromatherapy oils can be used, but take professional advice as to which ones are safe (Mudbath can probably tell you).

Woodstove is on low and seems to be happy... smoke is coming out of the chimney and I've brought some more logs in from the shed to the utility room. Goose casserole has been prepped and is in the SC. Lunch has consisted of 2 scones with honey and some instant miso soup.

Once client call done, some prep done for another, and I have another meeting in just under 10 minutes...

Finished just before 11, and had a good friend I don't see too often over for coffee and natter - DS1's headteacher, now retired. We became friends when DS1 was so ill, but are both really busy! Lovely to see him - over a year since we last got together! He's thrilled to bits as going to be a grandfather next April. We talked about it when his DD got married, and I bet him it would be within three or four years - I won!

I've now caught up on the thread, and had lunch, and am off into town with DS1 to look at the leather jackets he wants for Christmas. DD in Brighton with BF (they're back together...) to see James Morrison - if I didn't have to get up so early tomorrow for school, I'd have gone too...

Lovely day here, and I'm not outside enjoying it - really tired after last week, and needed a day of relaxing. School quite demanding, as quite a few of our children don't look forward to the holidays for various reasons, and start kicking off before a break.

Love and hugs to all those who are feeling down today.
