    Hello all

Bit of a turn up for the books here....Dr was running over half an hour late, so by the time I was out I wouldn't have got into work until almost 12. I called in and persuaded the boss (well acting boss as my group manager was on a course) to let me work from home (not easy, so many people don't work properly that they are reticent to let people!). I said to him, hopefully you know that I do work hard, he said 'yes, I have noticed that'.... Drs was fine, she's happy for me to manage my wheat intolerance myself and we had a chat about ttc and how it usually takes up to a year so not to obsess (easier said than done when you're me!)

So I'm ploughing through the emails that have been mounting up recently and I have a couple of documents to comment on so it's ideal for today. I've got loads of flexi to come so I'm only going to work til 4 and then take myself out for a coffee. Picked up the boots order earlier so that's one more present sorted.

I've also managed to put the bedding in the wm and taking jill's idea have just stuck a load of vinegar in the kettle to descale it. I must get the water filter out as the kettle filter thing has gone so we keep getting limescale in our tea! I've also just stuck the heating on as it's chilly!

Better get on, I will do the living room later, it could do with a going over.

Rose I would join you but have just done two and half HHCs back to back and now that I have stopped I am wiped out.

In the last (slightly extended) HHC I:
    - hung washing out on airers
    - Cleaned kitchen surfaces
    - wiped large and small appliances
    - finished descaling kettle
    - wiped kickboards and cupboard doors
    - decrumbed toaster
    - wiped round edge of floor and under some bits of kickboard- gross
    - put more recycling out
    - rehomed a load of stuff
    - opened post
    - put up some cards in front room
    - cleaned hob oven and grill

We got a letter in from hospital with appointment for DS' assessment - 6th Jan - am glad its after Christmas and am not going to tell DH about it til that week or he will stress about it til then. Really must get that paperwork back.......

JillD My son was not dry at night until he was 14. He is thin so got away with older childrens night time trainer pants. It is such hard work washing every day. As he got older he wouldn't wear them so he had to have his bed changed every day.

I don't know how any mattresses we got through with him. We tried the disposable mattress protectors from the hospital for a while. They are good if your son doesn't move about too much in his sleep.

I've stopped already - tidied LR floor, put away dry washing up and felt funny so am having lunch and then am going to bed for a nap.

I hope you are okay. Haven't done too much? That is my usual trick.

Does he have other issues or was he just a late developer in this area ?
My DS is skinny as a rake so the pullups should fit for years to come. I've tried the pampers bed pads but he moves around loads so they are useless and obv expensive. The PVC undersheet works brilliantly.
His other thing he is downright lazy so although he is able to stay dry in the day at school fine, he is a bit less reliable at home, and as soon as he has the pullup on for bed he uses it instead of the toilet, even if he's awake. That really winds me up, but getting cross does nothing so I am trying really hard to not stress about it and hope that he will grow outof it with time. I wonder if he too will decide he doesnt want to wear the pullups at some point but before being dry. I dont want to go down the route of alarms etc, I am fairly sure they wouldnt work for him and would freak him out and scare him.

The wearing a pullup at night in iteself really doesnt bother me at all, it is so mch less stressful now he is ok at school at least.
I do worry though for when he comes to have sleep overs, beavers camps etc. How did your DS cope with that sort of thing ?

Good that your DS got there in the end, I bet it muct have seemed like it would nevre happen.

what would you all recommend I do to get the grout on my shower cubicle tiles nice and white again ? I dont want to use something that will scrape off the grime as there is minimal grout there and I dont want it to leak and stain the ceilings below. Elbow grease and time in plentiful supply! Am assuming there is something I can sort of leave on and then do a few tiles a day whilst in the shower in the morning ?
    TIA :D
