Huge hugs for you Penelope Penguin - what an awful thing to happen. I hope at least some of the girls come back.

Lady Liberty - best of luck for today.

amd hugs for those with toxic mothers - mine is lovely (and lurks :p).

My lovely FIL finally lost his fight with cancer this morning. We are just glad that he has stopped hurting.

Hopefully get some time later on to get some stuff done. I must at least do the DW before I go to work - the next week or so is hideously complicated and if I dont get a little bit done now then we will sink in the slime.

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning everyone,

Thanks to Frodders and Toots for kind words and thoughts. Hugs and good wishes to everyone, hope all ok?

Will be pootling in background again today but need a bit of advice.

OH burnt some food (actually on fire ) in our combi-microwave the other week. Have managed to get rid of smell from rest of house (I think) but despite scrubbings, cooking lemons and boiling bi-carb solution it still won't go from the microwave. What can I do, please?

  • Re bedwetting

my nephew was pretty poor at the whole toilet training thing and one day my sis got so fed up she took him to the GP's. She didn't think they'd listen to her - he wasn't old enough for it to be a problem.

A sympathetic GP looked at my nephews back - and he was eventually confirmed with a diagnosis of the hidden form of spina bifida - hence the continence issues (these were both day and night...and bowels too.)

He's just turned 13 - and is finally dry at night.....but I think he wa at least 10 before he went home from a visit here in the same clothes he arrived in!

For a number of years my sis has been getting low level DLA for him. In fact she is an expert on how to fill the forms in (it's a 48 page form - and not for the fainthearted!) - and lets face it - it's not what's wrong with you - it's how you fill the form in!

She is on Foggy Friends where she helps people fill in their DLA forms - so if anyone wants any more info (or her details) pm me. I don't think she has ever had a refusal on the forms she's helped fill out!

DD2 turns 16 tomorrow - and at least 3 of her mates have had bedwetting issues even into the teens......

hex - condolences to you and your family. It's so hard when you're trying to balance the grief that someone has gone with the relief that they are no longer suffering. I hope you can all find the time and space to deal with it at this hectic time of year.

penpen - I hope you find out what has happened to your chickens... occupational hazard of keeping them unfortunately.

JillD - meant to say - fab cake and well done on being creative and coming up with a solution (rather than having a strop and chucking the cake on the floor, which in my opinion is a perfectly justifiable reaction!)

Good luck with the results today L-L. I've got all my fingers & toes crossed for you.

Hugs to Diva & De.Nattom on the mothers/birthdays thing. It makes me really appreciate how lovely my mum is (and unlike hex's she doesn't lurk ;))

Looks like I've got another client call on its way to me... one of my team is delegating, which some people have been a bit rude about, but it works for me as otherwise sales keep sending stuff to the people they know. I'm not feeling brave enough to go and look at what (if any) comments I have had on my first bit of writing...

I'm supposed to be going to the reception nativity play this morning at the village school... haven't booked a place, but I'll wander up and see whether there is room to stand at the back. I can hopefully drop in at the post office on the way there or back to send off my cards to L-L.

I hope to get a few things done today as I'm working from home... including running the woodstove for as long as possible with the windows open, running the dyson round, making some muesli, dropping cards in on neighbours, emailing the landscaper (yes, I'm still putting it off!), making a casserole in the SC and possibly making and freezing a cake for the weekend... but based on what normally happens I'll be lucky if any of it gets done!
