    Found it last week. Aol are legendary in America for the lengths they'll go to in order to keep customers :)
  • If any AOL users are still having problems it could well be to do with the Cache. The following worked for me and all is now ok.....

    1. Log off the net and close down AOL

    2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate as follows (I'm on Win2000 so there may be differences between the different Windows OSs)
    Document & Settings > All Users > Application Data > AOL > Storage

    3. Look for the file Cache.db and delete it

    4. Reboot, open AOL and log back on as normal - all will be ok - hooray.... :D
